Superb castle nested on top of a dominating hill overlooking the surrounding Piemont countryside. The castle is authentically preserved and has all the amenities including a beautiful indoor cave pool. The rooms are as expected in this historical castle. It has the « Relais-Château » label which means it’s one of a kind exclusive place.

Charming Property
Excellent stay! Our room in this castle was absolutely lovely. Very spacious, well-equipped, and with amazing views of the surroundings. The service was also very friendly. Notedly, this property is somehow very dog friendly with large gardens to roam about (we came with a golden retriever puppy). Would highly recommend.

My experience in the hotel was more disappointing than pleasant. The policy of the castle insists on charging extra bed (100 euro) and baby crib (50 euro), so for a 1 night stay a family of 2 adults and 2 children is due to pay around 700-750 euro, which is much too high for a low season accommodation. Rooms are spacious and beautiful, new bathrooms, however, the doors are old and lack isolation, my daughter could fall asleep due to noise from the corridor. The team is hardworking and nice, but not enough personnel for such a huge place. For instance, in the spa and pool area (which is outstanding) there were no one to assist us at times, same situation in the bar. Breakfast was average, not special. Cigar lounge was more like a closet. Thus, the castle itself is nice but still much work is required to make it excellent.

The property is in disrepair. The lights didn’t work in some of the rooms (bathroom lights wouldn’t shut off), electrical problems in outlets, the furniture is falling apart, the rooms are very noisy, and the heat/air didn’t work correctly (would not shut off), to name some of the problems. The staff was nice but unable to assist. The restaurant and staff were excellent, but this was our 3rd time there and we are not going back.

An exceptional experience to stay and live in a museum! Not only were the grounds spectacular with 360 degree views on a hilltop, it also has all the modern luxuries including marble slab baths rooms. Heated towel racks, with a separate standup shower. The staff were kind and attentive. Having only 12 guest rooms, one feels like one is living in a private castle. The indoor heated pool was a surprise at the end of a 150 meter long original brick passage way! Svetlana was kind enough to give a historical tour of the castle highlighting the original restored museum rooms to the unique Venetian Murano chandelier. Breakfast in the original family dining was a sublime experience. The Castillo was a perfect getaway to reach the many wineries and great restaurants in the area. A definite must to return!

Amazing stay. Only things I wish is that the pool is outside and there was a bar one could sit at and enjoy the breathtaking views. Incredibly relaxing stay and heavenly location with good food.

"Experience of a lifetime"
I came across this castle while looking for a hotel between Milan and Cuneo. I am in charge of booking all the travel for my husband and his executive staff, which can be difficult with picky requests. We stayed 1 night here as we travelled through Europe on business. This was the best experience that we will never forget. From the incredibly kind and helpful staff to the beauty of the castle inside and out, to the delicious food and wine, sitting by a crackling fireplace with drinks and snacks brought to us, etc. They even went as far as playing my music request in the castle (Andrea Bocelli). Words cannot say enough, especially regarding the pool area. Swimming in a cave overlooking the valley while having calming spa music play in the background and a waterfall over rocks pour down on you.....simple amazing. And the walk through the old escape tunnel to get to it was incredible. I thought it was a good touch to having a book on the piano that all guests could sign or write a little memo. The views from the outside were breathtaking. I have travelled all over and for me to say this was an experience of a lifetime, it was truly an experience of a lifetime. We cannot wait to come back and rent the entire castle for our family and/or friends. Until next time.....

Beautiful castle in Piedmont
Beautiful room and grounds. Excellent restaurant. The staff was great. Spa was excellent but gym was in a small basement room that was humid and damp. Besides the gym this was a great experience and a good jump off point to enjoy the wine country of Piedmont.

Excellent choice for visits to Piedmont region
Very unique and superior quality property in Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. Highly recommended for its superior service, staff, restaurant quality and cleanliness. Access this location by car - this location is remote and is not easily accessed by public transportation. Little is within walking distance of this hotel.

This is a spectacular property- a hidden gem
I have traveled all over the world and am rarely surprised, but this hotel is the exception. Pictures do not do it justice. With only 16 rooms, it feels like you are a guest in a private home. Everything from the staff to the amenities to the views is superb. The pictures on-line do not do it justice with many amenities included in the room price ( indoor grotto/pool and spa with showers, jacuzzi, steam,sauna, ice room, jacuzzi ). A total treat. Since the are now a Relais and Chateaux property (Sept 2016), booking will be harder, but well worth the effort.
