"great breakfast and friendly staff"

"had a truly excellent stay at novotel at the bell tower with my family. a five-star experience i'd recommend to anyone. location: perfect. just a 2-minute walk to the metro, and walking distance from the tourist district, especially the gorgeous bell tower. plenty of food and drink options nearby, including chagee and luckin coffee. rooms: very clean and tastefully decorated. amenities were great. beds were super comfy. soundproofing could've been better — we did hear some noise from the corridor — but not a deal-breaker. service: the staff were a standout. when my parents ran into trouble with the didi app, the hotel staff kindly helped advise them. they also accidentally checked out early due to an erroneous train booking, and were able to check back in without incident. they were extremely impressed with the service, and i'm very thankful. from the outside the building isn't the prettiest, but don't judge a book and all that. overall, had a wonderful, super value for money stay. we'll definitely return to novotel if we're ever back in xi'an."

"This is a very nice hotel in a good location.rooms are a good size and spacious. Our only issue was the AC. We always book rooms with AC but here the hotel controlled when it was available. Once it was on you could adjust the temp in your room. The hotel did provide us with some fans which really helped but it was still disappointing. The AC did finally seem to stay on by the 3rd night after my wife complained again. The staff were very nice, i think the issue was due to how the building management team programed the availability of AC. Even though it was mid April, some hotels have “winter mode” which regulates the necessity of using AC."
