The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, etc. to make delicious meals. The kitchen closet is where you will find the new washer and dryer. Right off the kitchen is another cozy sitting area and a stove to stay warm on chilly nights. The 1st bedroom has a king bed, dresser, 2 night stands, and closet. The 2nd bedroom is large with a queen bed and a chair to relax, 2 nightstands, cabinet and closet. The 3rd bedroom is small with a twin bed, chair, and closet. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. Madison Run Cottage is walking distance to trails in the Shenandoah National Park, 30 mins from Skyline Drive, 20 mins to both Massanutten Resort and James Madison University, and 5 mins from Grand Caverns Park. This is a perfect retreat to relax and enjoy the outdoors, while not being more than 15-20 minutes from the University town of Harrisonburg full of shops and restaurants.
Wonderful hiking is just 1 mile away on Madison Run Trailhead in Shenandoah National Park. Visitors can either drive or walk to the trailhead. To get to the Madison Run Trailhead, you would turn left out of the driveway and then take another left when the road forks. The trail begins at the end of that road. You can just stay on the old fire road, which is so nice or take a small trail up the mountain.

We had a short but comfortable stay here. The house is located right next to a creek, the running water sounds were very peaceful. The property owners live on the other side of the yard but the house felt private.
Very adequate and clean for small group.
2 bathroom's would be a plus. Nice and cozy. Was a great choice for our anniversary getaway. Highly reccomend this house.
The property is beautiful! The cabin is great, very nicely decorated and plenty of room for our family of 5. The outdoor space really puts it over the top, so much to see and room to explore. Perfect location for a trip to Shenandoah National Park, in between two different entrances.
The cottage was charming and in a lovely setting. The check-in, check-out process was easy. The cottage was clean and equipped with everything we needed including bug spray for our hike! Highly recommend!
Great location at the base of Shenandoah National Park. Clean cabin, well-stocked kitchen.
So nice to sit on porch with coffee and listen to the stream and the birds.
Thanks for your hospitality!!
Really nice and well kept house away from it all with a little stream running behind the house and occasional visits from the deer population. Close enough to the park, trails, wineries, historical sites and eateries. Enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book again.
We love this place the moment we arrived. Huge rooms with big warm inviting beds. The extra room with an old fashioned fire place! The fresh air & the sound of the babbling Brooke outside just makes you relaxed. Worth every cent to stay here.
What a pleasant little cottage, centrally located to Harrisburg, Bridgewater, and Staunton with easy access to Shenandoah National Park and several area wineries and breweries. There’s a great porch and deck area to relax and unwind outside, with ample open grassy areas as well.
This was the most thoughtfully put together and well stocked house that we've stayed in. It was close to eveything we wanted to do but far enough way to feel relaxed. The wildlife and scenery were amazing. The property and house were very clean with plenty of privacy and space for the four of us. Thank you to the hosts for a lovely stay!
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The owners were helpful and responsive. The house was clean and had everything we needed, plus some extras kindly left for us. The property is private, comfortable, and simply beautiful. We highly recommend this home.
This is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. They thought of everything you could possibly need. Lots of things to do locally. This was an absolutely perfect weekend. We could not have asked for a better place. We have already booked to return in September.
Spotless, comfortable bedding and furniture, beautifully decorated had every thing youcould possibly need. Azaleas were in bloom. Porch was wonderful. Beautiful piece of property.
My two teenagers and I stayed here for five days while we hiked the Shenandoah Mountains and explored the caverns. The location was perfect to get to all the places we wanted to see. Check was simple and communication with the host was amazing. Everything you need is at this location! Highly recommend for a great family stay!
This cottage was in a charming location with a creek out back, lovely grounds, and total privacy. We stayed in the late fall; it must be even better in the spring or summer. It is the best-equipped -i.e., amenities - of any place we’ve ever stayed. Comfortably furnished. Nice appliances. Would happily return.
The cottage exceeded our expectations! So grateful we found this gem! We had an incredible weekend of hiking and relaxing. The location is perfect. The details, setting, and amenities were beyond our expectations. We have talked a bunch about going back. I can’t imagine a better place to stay and enjoy Shenandoah National Park.
