"Regina's Cottage is magical. The location can't be beat: close enough to Bar Harbor and the heart of Acadia on MDI (less than an hour's drive) to be convenient, but far enough away to avoid the **considerable** crowds. And the portion of Acadia on the Schoodic Peninsula is spectacular and much less crowded (and only a five-minute drive away). The town of Winter Harbor is also charming, with a few good restaurants (don't miss the lobster roll, lobster poutine, and homemade wild blueberry pie at The Hotdog Stand), the views from Grindstone Point, and a small but sufficient grocery store for all your basic needs. But the real star here is Regina's Cottage. What a special place! Cozy, comfortable, with everything you could possibly need, and tons of privacy. The views are truly spectacular. We spent the week watching the water and the wildlife, with lobster men and pods of harbor seals active within a hundred feet of shore. In addition to daily visits from the seals (which we were able to watch closely thanks to the powerful binoculars available at the cottage), we also spotted loons, cormorants, herons, gulls, deer, and countless other sea birds we couldn't identify. The house is kept very clean and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to host a dinner party. All the amenities are as described and worked perfectly. The place is an honest-to-God 10 out of 10. Would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat!"

"Our stay was everything we hoped for. The rv was QUIET, clean, spacious, and had multiple sleeping options for 2 people (it sleeps 4), Stephanie was always responsive and helpful. The location was peaceful, and nearby areas were beautiful. We will definitely return!"

"Quiet, very clean and cozy! We enjoyed our stay very much and those beautiful sunsets along Schoodic loop and point, Acadia North National Park, near Birch Harbor. Bar Harbor and Acadia Main Entrance a 50 min scenic drive with lots of local restaurants along the way, Excellent!!"
Historic Winter Harbor Cottage w/ Waterfront Views

"We absolutely loved our stay in Winter Harbor. The house exceeded our expectations and truly felt like staying in a little piece of Maine history. It was also a perfect home base for exploring the Down East region and Acadia National Park.We are always looking for quiet places where we can really get away and relax, and this was exactly that. One of the highlights of the entire stay was having coffee in the Adirondack chairs each morning, watching the tide come and go in Henry Cove. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet.We also loved being away from the crowds you find on Mount Desert Island while still having such easy access to Acadia. The Schoodic Peninsula was just minutes away and quickly became one of our favorite parts of the park.Another great option is the ferry to Bar Harbor, which is only about five minutes down the road. The boat ride is worth doing on its own, with beautiful views along the way, and it gets you into Bar Harbor in about 45 minutes without having to deal with the drive or parking.Winter Harbor itself was wonderful. There are several great restaurants nearby, with everything from very casual spots to some nicer options for dinner, so we never felt like we had to travel far.We rent a house somewhere in Maine every summer for our family vacation, and this was probably our favorite stay yet. A lot of that comes down to the location and the overall feel of the house. It is comfortable, peaceful, full of character, and just a great place to spend time together. Between the setting on Henry Cove, the history of the house, the quiet surroundings, and easy access to everything the area has to offer, it was exactly what we look for in a Maine vacation.We will definitely be back."
