Pet friendly, Semi-Detached 2 Bed Chalet at California Sands near Norfolk Broads

Cosy and clean two bedroom chalet, a 7 minute walk from the Norfolk coast with sandy beach. Perfectly positioned on the California Sands Estate to maintain a sense of rural solitude. Free parking on campsite.

We are happy to accept well-behaved dogs for an additional fee of £30, however they must be kept on a leash on site at all times. Click on 'Guests' and change 'Pets' from No to Yes prior to checkout.

The chalet is best suited for a maximum of four guests (sharing one double bed and two single beds). However, for an additional fee, a sofa-bed is available and bedding can be supplied for an extra two people sharing.

Wifi can be found inside the arcade and Club Oasis, a short walk away (2-3 mins).
Free onsite parking near the property.
Clean bed linen and towels provided at no extra charge.

The accommodation has an electricity meter provided by the Site Management. You will need £1 coins for the electricity meter.

Chalet is a short walk from site facilities which include: Family clubhouse ‘Club Oasis‘ with evening entertainment, licensed club providing live music, cabaret, family entertainment, children’s entertainment, children’s bar, beer garden and pool table (There is also wifi) (Payment is required to enter during school holidays). Nearby indoor heated communal swimming pool (Open daily April until end of October 2025, regulation permitting). Amusements arcade, Minimarket, Dutchy’s Tavern, The Pit Stop late night takeaway Pizza Bar, Fish and Chip shop, Café, Big Fella’s Restaurant, and Launderette. There is a bus stop at the site entrance with frequent public transport links to the nearby seaside town of Great Yarmouth or Norfolk Broads.

Suitability: children welcome, pets welcome, non-smoking only (you are free to smoke outside the chalet), wheelchair inaccessible, baby's highchair available upon request. Unfortunately we cannot accept bookings from parties of all male or all female young people, as this is a site rule.

*We cannot guarantee the open or closing times of any on-site facilities. Please be aware that Wifi is available in the Club Oasis and not inside the chalet itself.

The chalet was clean on arrival, with milk in fridge and tea and coffee, it was spacious enough for 3 and dog. The electric lasted for a while, £3 on the meter on arrival. The area was quiet, facilities were great, shop and chippy on site open till 10pm, the only let down was the nightly entertainment you had to be a member to get in or you had to pay.

Lovely chalet

The chalet was spotless, my granddaughters loved the bunk beds. The area where the chalet is was quiet on an evening, so ideal for young children. Everyone enjoyed their stay here.

First impressions great check in , car parked a bit too far away but fine. Accommodation was dog friendly and did smell a bit sorry 😞 kitchen area and bedrooms fine. Really enjoyed our stay

A perfect place to spend a few days. Everything you need such as towels, washing up liquid etc is there for you and a lovely little welcome pack. Shame you can’t park next to the chalet but that’s the only negative I can find.

Shame about the awful weather we had but the chalet had everything you could need. It was very close to the Club, pool and chippy. The chalet itself was very clean and all towels provided and Simon the host left a little welcome pack. The beach is only about a 5-10 minute walk. We would definitely return.

It was clean & tidy & to have complimentary drinks tea coffee suger ect was such a lovely touch. My Grand Children loved it. If one has a car it's a bonus as there are so many places to see. We did sea the Sea Lions at Horsey beach which was great.I love Hemsby people are so friendly would go again. Thank you. 👍👍👍😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Well equipped property

Overall the property was clean and tidy however the bathroom anti slip mat should be replaced and there is a smell of mustiness that we thought would go after the first day but didn't. Apart from that the place is nicely presented.The host gave accurate details of how to find the property which was very helpful.

Let down

I felt let down and mislead with this chalet. The smell from previous holiday makers dog was horrid (not owners fault) but was made to believe that passes for clubhouse and swimming pool was included but they were not. This lead to a lot of extra expense! When I asked the owners about this they said they’d told me I’d have to pay but they never as I wouldn’t of chose this particular chalet.

The place was nice and i liked there was a games console for the kids. I didnt like having to turn off the heating at night so that the meter did not run out as it was cold at night so havig to decide about how much to put in the meter so we coukd have heating all night ot not but the place was clean and had all the kitchen utilities we needed and easy to find.

We enjoyed our stay - the property was clean and is well looked after. It is a traditional chalet in a private holiday park which has some good amenities - at an extra cost. We appreciated the help from the owner when we needed it and was helpful at answering our queries before our stay. There are a few things that would make our score excellent - clarity of cost of electricity and instructions in the chalet of how to use it would have been helpful. The kitchen equipment could be better - as we cooked in the chalet most nights - i.e. just one, well used frying pan. The chalet was cold so you need the electricity! Bedrooms were comfortable and there is great storage. I think we’d have enjoyed it most in the summer - but still fun things to do in October half term - swimming pool (at extra cost) on site is excellent, Oasis Club and restaurant was good, we enjoyed the Bingo - note: again paid entrance; beach just a short walk and a good place to explore Norfolk from. All in all we enjoyed our stay - but the extra costs mount up for the additional on site amenities and electricity.
