Glenbrook House with High Speed Internet

Glenbrook House is centrally located, 5 min to Nevada City or Grass Valley. It has epic sunset views, ample parking, a spacious interior with open floor plan, kitchen island and hardwood floors throughout. 55” Smart TV and 5.1 Sound system. Private office and high speed internet offers distance work/school and fold out couch. Private deck with seating for 8 overlooking the pond and a private gazebo. Play croquet around the pond during warmer months. Gate to irrigation canal offers leisurely strolls to a waterfall.

This is a fantastic Vacation Rental. The moment you drive into the large circular driveway and see the towering Oaks, Cedars, and Horse sculpture, you will understand the magic of our forest. The surrounding gardens will enchant you, all year round. Central Heat and AC, in addition to wood burning stove stocked with dry wood. Enjoy a two person soaking bath tub in the master bathroom lit by a dimmable chandelier with a view of the stars and garden.

The Glenbrook House is located on over an acre, which have lovingly been developed into a massive food forest. The Organic Veganic Gardens will delight those of all ages. This property is perfect for a couple who wants space to spread out, or for a family reunion. There are numerous areas to sit and soak in the gardens with friends or a good book.

Glenbrook House is centrally located, with easy access to shopping, dining, theaters, and 15 minutes to the Yuba River. It is a family neighborhood, located just 5 minutes to Grass Valley or Nevada City.

Glenbrook House offers plenty of parking onsite. You know you’re there when you see the large wooden horse sculpture as you pull into the driveway. We may allow parties of 20 or so guests for Wedding Rehearsals and similar events with an addition fee. We ask that the outdoor noise be attenuated after 10 pm to respect our neighbors. Please let us know in advance if you would like to have more people than your nightly guests. The standard nightly fee is for 6 guests. Additional guests will be charged $25 per guest for the number of nights of your reservation.

Great communication and the house was perfect for our friend group that was in the area for a wedding. Four separate sleeping areas worked well. Also enjoyed the canal and nice walking area behind the house so we could get our exercise in and to view the beautiful waterfall. Flowers and fruit at the house when we arrived were a nice touch!

Amazing stay

Beautiful home in Nevada City. Home is decorated with many musical instruments and antiques. The home has a nice deck with table and umbrella to relax on. The hosts were very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

The house was just like the pictures. A/C was on before we got there, so we walked into a cool house on a hot day. Very centrally located for activities like river swimming.

Ladies weekend out

We had a great time. While the house has some quirky art in it, the place was great! Really loved the deck. Location is great as it is close to both Grass Valley and Nevada City. Would definitely recommend.

Great mini vacation!!!!

From the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out, our stay was wonderful! The house was immaculate and comfortable. There were plenty of extras at the house, from spices in the kitchen to games in the cupboards. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. This property is a great place for a family reunion! We’ll definitely be looking forward to booking this home again next summer.

Another great stay at Glenbrook House

This was our second time staying here. It's such a nice house. Lots of attention to detail like cut flowers in the kitchen, making up the sofa bed in advance of our arrival, being flexible on check-in time. We love how close the house is to both downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful except for ants

It’s a great house in a great location situated between Grass Valley and Nevada City. The nearby walks are lovely. Too bad the bathrooms were crawling with carpenter ants or it would have been a perfect vacation rental. Would stay there again if the ants were controlled.

Beautiful home with excellent hosts

I cannot even describe the charm and beauty of this home. We were greeted with a fresh bouquet of flowers and a personal message from our hosts. The home is huge with an outdoor patio. It has everything you want especially with kids,even books and games. The furnishing and rooms are clean and comfortable. We will be back!

Wedding Weekend

The house was perfect for our family to stay at for our son's wedding. The location was perfect. I appreciated the flowers and welcome sign. Our pets were welcomed too. I just had to wipe down the outdoor chairs they were a little dirty. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Great place for family gathering

We really enjoyed this house. It is close to the event we attended. The outside area is as beautiful as the inside, with a deck and nearby walk along the irrigation ditch. The well-equipped kitchen and ample seats for enjoying a meal together make it a great gathering spot. The rooms provided sleeping space for about 8 people (more could fit if everyone was a couple or the couch in the living area was used). What a great find!

Family Reunion for Sierra Academy of Exploratory Learning Graduation

Highly recommended - Beautiful setting, Lovely house

The setting is beautiful among trees and still close to amenities (coffee shops, grocery, freeway access) and places to go (Yuba River, Grass Valley, Nevada City). The house is lovely - very well appointed, updated appliances, clean, comfortable and roomy. Dog and kid friendly. We all enjoyed that it was decorated with some beautiful, unique art and furniture pieces. It has a nice deck - great for morning coffee and evening relaxing. The owner provided some nice touches - a welcome note, plenty of linens and extra towels for the beach. A small thing, but I appreciated that the instruction list was complete but short without many rules. I would highly recommend a family stay.

The Holiday

We travelled to Nevada County to spend the Christmas holiday with our son, daughter in law, her parents, my wife and daughter. The house had plenty of room, was well appointed with decor, plenty of firewood, bedding, linens, and kitchen needs. The feel of the house was that you were still at home...very comfortable, very clean, great location, and the support from Gary was awesome. We will likely come back next year!

Girlfriends Getaway

We enjoyed the house and we were comfortable but the windows really need to be cleaned and cobwebs removed. Also, back deck furniture was not cleaned and had a lot of cat or dog fur. We didn’t use the deck because of this. The listing says ‘hot tub’ but we only saw a jacuzzi in the primary bedroom en suite. It wouldn’t take much to make this a more lovely stay. Hosts were kind and responsive. We wish them well.

We had a great stay and highly recommend this property to others. The host welcomed us upon arrival and suggested some activity ideas and even offered us to use their bikes. We realized we forgot the olive oil and butter when we were making finger and the host was kind enough to provide the needed items. They also showed up the next morning with some fresh berries they picked from the property. Very kind and sweet gesture. The house was clean and comfortable for all of our 7 adults and a large dog. The outside space was nice to explore and try some berries. The kids would have loved the zip line and all the play stuff, if they came with us. Having the ditch trail access right on the property was great and we walked there every day. Thank you Charlie and family for offering your house to us and other groups! All the best, Marina.

Comfortable Stay for Large Family

We stayed here for a wedding, and it was comfortable for 7 of us (three couples and a single), plus two small dogs. Pros: The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of extras, like spices, oil, coffee, etc. There are also thoughtful touches like extra dog dishes, leashes and toys. The large dining table is perfect for a group. Plenty of glassware, dishes, pots, pas, cooking utensils. The living room is large and comfortable. Good parking. Nice area. Cons: The bedroom linens (and bath towels) are worn out and could use refurbishing. The pull out bed in the den has an uncomfortable (and badly stained) mattress topper, and our daughter said the comforter smelled so bad she had to remove it in order to sleep. Also some of the blinds in that room do not completely cover the windows, so we had to hang an extra blanket up to cover them. The hall bathroom was not very clean upon arrival; there was used bar soap left over from a previous guest, the toilet was visibly dirty, and the baseboards were grimy. Also the shower does not drain fully. Cobwebs in all of the windows throughout. There is beautiful outdoor furniture, but it is covered in cat hair. Overall, it just felt like everything needs a thorough cleaning. Otherwise a decent place.

Many superlatives for Glenbrook House and its hosts.Fully stocked. Convenient location. Ample space for large group. The single floor layout worked well with three handicapped members of our party. Unanimous vote that the best part of the house was the easily accessible exterior deck with a large table under umbrella awning with tasteful and comfortable seating for all of our party. Must add the kitchen was fully stocked and easy to use and clean. Finally, could not ask for better hosts. Communicated well. Rapidly fixed a small problem when notified. Respectful of our privacy. All in all, an excellent stay. Recommend Charles and Melissa highly as hosts.
