The house was lovely, comfortable, and spacious. It felt like staying at my grandmother's house in the best way. The beds were cozy, the water pressure was great, and we had all the kitchen amenities we needed.Katherine and Joy were communicative and prompt in their responses. We didn't have any issues during our stay, but they checked in to coordinate our arrival and see if we had any questions about checking out.I would absolutely stay here again.
Enjoyed the large charming victorian house. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully equipped and house was a few minute walk to downtown Grass Valley. Would stay there again with a group of friends.
This property was perfect for our get away. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room to spread out or come together. This home has a lovely peaceful backyard, too.
Our family enjoyed our weekend at this home. The house itself is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed a breakfast out in the quiet backyard as well. And the location was very convenient. We walked to downtown several times.
Beautiful Victorian, short walk to darling town with lots stores & restaurants
4 bedroom Victorian plus 1 bedroom & bath in ADU. Quiet, sunny back yard with eating area & covered porch. Large, homey kitchen. Perfect for gathering of five old friends.
5 ladies, friends for over 50 years had a wonderful stay in beautiful Grass Valley in this well kept historic Victorian home. Plenty of rooms to enjoy, with outdoor garden areas to relax. It was only a short walk to the down town retail areas of Grass Valley as well. The owners of this home have taken great care to provide any anticipated guests need. All 5 of us highly recommend this Vrbo listing and hope to return again.
We throughly enjoyed our stay! We had everything we needed for our group who consisted of seniors to toddlers. The home was very large! The location was ideal and walking distance to everything we needed. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques and houses a plethora of interesting books about the history of the area etc. Joy was very gracious and made check in easy. We would love to come back one day.
A group of friends stayed here for a retreat in town, and the personality of the home was palpable on entry. Everything from the furnishings to the decor, the choices and small touches, the portraits on the walls, everything spoke to the way this is a living space. We all really felt the energy of the home! My friend arrived first and told us in the group chat how amazing and ALIVE the house felt. And I recall at one point saying something to my friends about how much I was loving the space - something to the effect of “this house is just incredible, and like haunted in the BEST way!” *insert open-mouthed awe* Truly, the space is generous, the walls feel benevolent. This home held some really beautiful conversations, breakthroughs, and evolutions. We also did some really lovely healing practices in there, and we felt the presence and support of the home’s entities. It was very special.Everything was clean and perfect. No notes. The cabinet was stocked with some staples and essentials, and there seemed to be a pay it forward system in the fridge for unopened and still-good items that we appreciated and added to on departure. Parking was the only tricky thing - there is a driveway at the back of the house, but I never found the street it connects to. This is definitely worth your consideration
The communication with the owner was stellar. I owned my own VRBO in Naples, Florida for 11 years. (I'm going to buy back there again soon, which is another story.) So, I know and fully understand when a host tries really hard to give guests a good time. The owner was there if I had any questions. The house was a very nice Victorian house with many of the original furnishings. Our family had a get together for a few days to see Grandma. It was nice to hang out in a house, rather than a hotel. If timing permits, we will definitely book this place again. As the cliche goes, I hate to give a great review because then my dates will probably be taken next year, but oh well. It's a great place for you to enjoy the Grass Valley area. Thanks for your hospitality. Respectfully, Laurie and family.
Stayed 3 nights in December. No complaints, what so ever! House was GORGEOUS, clean, well stocked. Beds were very comfortable. We came to explore the area, but we so comfortable at the house we stayed in quite a bit. The hosts were excellent, as well!
Not only is the house gorgeous, interesting in history and decor, it is also well equipped, spacious enough for a group/family and comfortable. The walkable location to everything you might need (restaurants, shops, groceries)and wonderful neighborhood make you feel right at home. The hosts were very friendly, informative, accessible and welcoming.
We had a lovely stay at this property over July 4th weekend. We were 5 adults with my elderly mother. It was perfect for her to have the main floor bedroom and bath. It was just a short walk to downtown Grass Valley which we all enjoyed the walk to view the nice neighborhood with cute houses and beautiful gardens. We loved the private backyard and ample parking. It was just a quick drive for us to see nearby family and fun attractions. We could see the fireworks from the front step!We wished there was a history of the house as it is listed in the historic register and is just beautifully kept and furnished. We enjoyed it very much and would stay again.
Interesting property. Good location. Needs fire escape means for upstairs rooms and more than one smoke detector. For renters, needs included local map for accessing parking/property.
