"Really beautiful place both the hotel and the location. Staff were all very nice, polite snd helpful which made the stay even more pleasant. The only downside was breakfast, the qaulity of the produce was excellant as i'm guessing was the standard of the breakfast if you were there at the start. I guess part of the problem was our own doing because we decided on a late breakfast towards the end of service, so we found the hot food gad now gone cold. This shouldn't happen so maybe look into better ways to keep the food hot. The rest of the breakfast was really good with a super continental selection. None of this spoiled our stay and we are both looking forward to returning. This place definitly provided that special romantic night I wanted to give my gorgeous wife and dinner was absolutely amazing."

"This is really a pub with rooms. Suits us fine. Several places within 100 yards for breakfast. Lovely beers, friendly staff, welcoming to families, limited menu but v good cooking. Great room overlooking the square. Super beer garden. Recommend."

"A Beautiful Stay in the Heart of Cartmel We had such a wonderful stay at the Cartmel Old Grammar Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely — they made us feel completely at home. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and immaculately finished, with thoughtful touches throughout. With some really lovely communal spaces to get to know other guests and not feel tucked away in your room all day. It strikes the perfect balance between character and contemporary comfort. Set in a peaceful, scenic spot, it’s an ideal base for exploring the charming village of Cartmel. Speaking of which, the location couldn’t be better. It’s just a stone’s throw from the incredible L’Enclume, which was a real highlight of our trip, and the village itself is full of character, with a surprising number of independent shops, cosy pubs, and pretty streets to wander. We left feeling relaxed, well looked after. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and stylish retreat in a truly beautiful corner of the Lakes."

"Great place to stay for a few days rest and relaxation. The location is great for walks, dog walks, beach walks or just having a few days in a quiet location to chill. The hotel manager (Caroline) and staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. The bar and restaurant are constantly busy with locals and visitors that makes for a great friendly atmosphere. The food was exceptional. It is evident that it’s all home cooked and care and attention is given to taste and quality. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and just the right size for two of us and bags for a two day stay. Bathroom was very clean with an absolutely fantastic shower. Thoroughly recommend both the hotel and area for a peaceful few days away. "

"The room was lovely, attention to detail was excellent they thought of everything for the room or should I say suite! There was a hot tub outside that we used. Breakfast was served in our room….lots of choice for breakfast and the food was delicious. We had booked 3 nights but only stayed one night unfortunately. We were going to a wedding and I had booked the wrong hotel! The staff were very accommodating trying to arrange for us to go to the wedding hotel which they did! So it was an expensive weekend having paid for 2 hotels. I wish we had stayed at the manor for the 3 nights……we will definitely return. "
