Only a short drive to Grand Marais, State Parks, beaches and lots of trails available to checkout when we wanted to explore the area or dine out occasionally. "The views from the house were exquisite and Shayla was very responsive whenever we had a question. The deck, which goes of the way around the house, was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped and the windows were beautiful. There was plenty of paper towels and toilet paper. The pool table and foosball table in the basement would be great for a family. "

"Perfect for a solo retreat! I needed some relaxing time alone in the woods (in a beautiful maple forest, no less), but still wanted to be somewhat close to civilization, and this was the spot! I got such refreshing, restful sleep every night in this absolutely quiet, tiny (but airy) playhouse of a cottage, thanks to the super cozy and comfy bed! It was all just so sweet—even if, as I did, you just want to hang out and read as you listen to the rain all day. Grand Marais is only eighteen minutes away, so it was easy to run to town for dinner at the Angry Trout(!) and another time a mid-morning latte and fabulous pastries at the new Crosby bakery. Stevie and Juani, were wonderful, generous hosts—easy to reach via text. They have furnished this very clean, fairy tale of a house with north woods elegance (I especially love the velvet curtains) without it being over-decorated or cluttered. I had everything I needed, and felt perfectly at home all four nights I was there. A perfect way to have spent my 65th birthday and just the week I needed! "
