The staff was very helpful. We were there during a very hot time of year and the place is not air conditioned, but there was a strong fan. The shower area was modern. It is in a good location a fairly short walk from the train station.

This hotel located in Aalts is the perfect place to stay if you want a beautiful Belgium city, without crowds and right in between Brussels, Ghent and Bruges. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are spacious, and the staff is super nice. Highly recommended and we will come back and stay at Royal Astrid!

The outside of the hotel is having a major overhaul / revamp so is not at its best. Reception is stylish but once you are beyond that the hotel could do with a good dollop of TLC. A lick of paint on the walls, repairing chips on doors and other woodwork plus new carpets could transform this hotel. A good, well sized bathroom. A very large comfortable bed gave me a good nights sleep. I did have earplugs which were needed as the toilet system seemed to have life of its own. I'm not sure what was going on with it but it seemed to partially flush every 5 to 10 minutes throughout the night.
