The location of this hotel is excellent. We walked the “back” way to the Alhambra, as shared by Santiago. That was an excellent choice and a bit of a secret, I think! No crowds. The staff is excellent- friendly and informative. My only complaint (as others have noted)is the standard room is VERY small. You can also hear your neighbors in adjoining rooms.

I had stayed at the Rosa del Oro years ago when it had another name. It’s still just as charming, built around a courtyard with views of the Alhambra. The rooms are not big and fancy, but very comfortable. You choose this hotel for its location and ambiance, not its amenities.

The front desk staff members were welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious, however the pillows were too large and hard, making them uncomfortable. The shower was somewhat difficult to use. Most hotels provide complementary coffee and tea for hotel guests. Would be nice if that was included. To clarify, coffee and tea are available at a moderate cost. The hotel is in a good location, close to town and walkable to the Alhambra. The hotel style is unique and charming. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job! Overall, we would definitely recommend.

Puts you close (walking distance) to some of the most wonderful places in Granada, the Alhambra, Sacramonte, and the Albayzin. My room had a view of the Alhambra and you could step out onto the small balcony to take in the Dario river and people enjoying a stroll, tapas, etc. The hotel is low service, no fancy facilities, just friendly staff, clean, air conditioned rooms with comfortable beds, chairs, etc. in the most beautiful area of Granada. The area is a prime evening spot for tapas and people heading to Sacramonte to see Flamenco. There will be late night noise from people heading home. But it is pleasant and NOT traffic noise. As a single female traveler, I felt safe and quickly known to the staff and the local coffee shop. I will absolutely stay here again.

It's heartening to hear that you enjoyed your room with a view of the Alhambra and balcony overlooking the Dario river, creating a picturesque setting for you to enjoy our charming city. We're glad you found our hotel's approach appealing, focusing on clean, air-conditioned rooms with comfortable amenities. Your safety and comfort are paramount, and we're pleased to hear that you felt secure as a solo female traveler, establishing a rapport with our staff and the local coffee shop.It would be an absolute pleasure to host you again in the future. The hotel was not maintained as it should have. The staff was ok but we had some luggage stolen from the lobby. There are stairs going up to the lobby with no elevator to the lobby. We saw several people struggling so it should be in the description. It’s very hard to get to so do not try to take a car. Taxi only!

Very noisy and terrible room
The room description was very wrong. It wasn't a room. It was a closet converted into a room. There weren't any chairs or other places to rest. The room was very, very small and contained only a bed and a wire shelf for clothing. The bathroom was so small that a 5'7" 155LB person could not turn around. The room was very noisy because it was on top of a terribly busy road. Hotels.com should refund my $ because the room description was wrong and completely unlivable. The internet does not exist in any room. It can only operate at the small hall (which they call lobby).
This is what they call a room. The room was so small and did not include any chairs, desks/tables etc.

We booked 4 hotels with Hotels.com and this hotel had the lowest rating of the 4. I do not understand it because this was definitely the BEST of the 4 hotels. It had extras that you do not always find in 5 star hotels. There were 3 of us and we had 2 rooms. Both were excellant value, I recommend having the breakfast. We will definitely go again.

Thank you very much for your wonderful comment. We were delighted with such nice customers as you. They filled us with praise during their stay and we are infinitely grateful that they have now also reflected it on the internet. The reason why this hotel is not so well valued is that it was previously called "Zaguán del Darro", but since October 2018 it changed its owner and was sharply renovated, leaving nothing of the previous property, to be renamed "Rosa d'Oro. " The fact is that no matter how much we tell Expedia this circumstance, they do not take away the comments prior to that date and we have to continue loading with a much worse comment that does not correspond at all with our current establishment, but with one of much worse category that existed before. That is why we appreciate your comment more than ever to be able to clarify to you and all future clients who read your comment, that the average note on Expedia is not our real one, because we have a much higher one if only the ones that really are taken were taken. We belong to our stage, since October 2018. We hope to see you again for our house that is now yours too.

We used the filter for car parking, this hotel stated it had parking. The only parking was in a public carpark 10 minutes walk, and cost 25 euros per day. Otherwise, the location is amazing, and the rooms quaint.

Quiet but centrally located with a great view.
This is a great little hotel. The building was obviously renovated and some of the decor in the lobby is somewhat old and dated but overall this was a great little hotel. The room we had was 202 it’s a room in the roof section that’s rather large and accessed by a spiral staircase. The room was clean and comfortable but simple. The second room was 403, this room was a little more updated and had a great view of the Alhambra out of both windows. Some people left some terrible comments here about this hotel - like the towels are sandpaper-like or that you can hear the plumbing/water etc. Yeay the towers are sun dried so they aren’t super soft but they just feel stiff, nothing bad. As far as noise - we never heard anything other than people going into their rooms as they passed by our door. It was very quiet and pleasant. Somethings were broken - for instance, the bathroom lock, latch had a missing nail, and the card holder that controls the main power to the room was pulled out of the wall but these are so minor, for the price and how often we went in our room, this made no difference.

Old world charm in a beautiful city
Lovely traditional property with lots of beautiful features. Pretty little courtyard area where reception is located. The room was very spacious with a nice sitting area. Good spacious bathroom. The only criticism is the room was quite dark with the older furniture but I loved the four poster bed. Additional lightening would have helped. I found the bedside lamps did not work. The fridge was very noisy so I had to unplug at night as this would have disturbed sleep. The view from the room was stunning. Being situated above a busy street there was some pedestrian noise at night and you could also hear passing cars but given the position in the heart of Granada that was to be expected.

Good location but tired accommodation
The hotel certainly has character, with lots of dark wood and tiles and is in a good location for a new visitor to Granada who wants to be able to walk to the Alhambra, Albayzin, Sacromonte and other places of interest. However, the rooms are in need of refurbishment and look shabby and uncared for - a few repairs to plasterwork, a coat of paint, overhaul of bathrooms, proper fitting curtains and some new furniture would make such a difference. The staff were pleasant and the rooms properly cleaned. It was lovely to have a (partial) view of the Alhambra but, being on the main road, coupled with very thin walls between rooms made it a noisy location.

great location, not so great hotel
The hotel is in an excellent location for the old town and Alhambra. The staff are really friendly, but the hotel needs some attention. Our room, 402 was really noisy. The walls are like paper, every word is heard in the nearby rooms, and the toilet of one room is right next to your head when in bed. Listening to strangers peeing is not relaxing. The beds are uncomfortable, the bathroom is tired and the towels are like small sheets of sandpaper.

Horrible experience - couldn't wait to check out.
This place should not be called a hotel. From checking in to checking out, our experience was horrible. When we arrived to drop our luggage prior to check in, the front desk worker was very rude to us, and his initial encounter was incredibly unkind. Then, when we returned to check in, he was not there for at least 20 minutes after we rang the doorbell nonstop. The only elevator in the building is connected to the bar beneath the hotel, which is on the main floor on the street. So, if you want to leave the hotel and the bar is closed - elevator is the only option. We had bugs in both of our beds. My friend got bug bites from this. Air condition was broken and the only worker there didn't know how to fix it. The key system is very inconvenient - the room keys are a physical key which the hotel requires to be kept with them each time you leave the hotel. However, although they claim someone is at the desk at all times to give the key to, this was not the case. We got yelled at because we kept it - on a morning that we left at 5am, when no one was at the desk. And we were told to still 'leave it there'. The room itself had a bad smell during our entire stay. The room is VERY small. Not much room to move around if you have luggae with you. Overall we were dissappointed. We booked this hotel with better expectations after seeing photos and tbe hotel rating - but that doesn't represent what you'll get. Unfortunately, this made us desperate to leave.

Perfect location
This hotel is in a perfect and beautiful location in front of the river Darro.Close walking distance for everything to do and see. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were all very nice. It was a bit noisy in the hotel and we were woke up early with the sound of other guests flushing the toilet and using the shower. The shower in our room wasn't very good and on the wrong position on the wall. Also not able to adjust height, which has no consideration for small people. The room was also in need of decoration This is our second stay at this hotel, purely for the location, but I don't think we would return
