"This is a hidden gem. A car is essential as the hotel is in a very pretty but rural area with no other facilities. However the hotel is absolutely first class, the rooms are spacious, airy and well appointed. "This is my go-to hotel in Grado. It is modern and clean and more comparable to international hotel standards than most hotels. It's walking distance to the old town. If you get a room on the side of the laguna, you have kind of a cute view of Italian boats. There are a few things I wish the hotel did differently. The AC could go a little bit lower as in some rooms, it doesn't quite get the job done (although it is OK, especially for an Italian hotel). I with the hotel had a pool. Or at least, I wish the hotel had more shaded seating on the roof-top terrasse. Without any sun protection, it is just too hot to sit up there, which pretty much nullifies that they even have that. And I am just not going to use the small indoor pool. I guess perhaps that makes more sense in the winter, but I have only visited in the summer. I like the breakfast they offer. The staff has always been great. And when in Italy, you generally have the problem that the hotel standard isn't close to international hotel standards. I like visiting Grado for a few days, as the old town is just incredible. But for the longest time, not having an adequate hotel was a downer to me, especially compared to many of the international locations I go to. But this hotel has become my favorite. It's obviously not a 5-star experience, but it isn't claiming to be. And the price is more than fair. I'd recommend it, unless you expect a pool."
