"Yes, host was very accommodating. Met us there and gave us the rundown. I wouldn't change my rating for it but best to know that it is a long drive on winding mountain roads to get there. Once there though the place is quite unique and roomy. Definitely feel you are on a mountainous hillside in Crete - cats, goats donkeys and all! "

"My partner and I stayed at this beautiful family-owned hotel. We were impressed by the beautiful views from the balcony of our apartment and by the hotel itself. The apartment consisted of a large bedroom, living room / kitchen and bathroom with a balcony overlooking an inlet of the sea. As a family-owned hotel, it was lovely to meet them all and to be treated with such welcoming kindness. In the evenings, we were often somewhere on the island but if we were at the hotel, they shared their family evening meal, which was always delicious. We felt like we were at home. The rooms were cleaned daily except Sundays and were immaculate. "

"This is an excellent base, to explore Chania and the western part of Crete. It was so peaceful. The house is wonderful, with great spaces inside and out to congregate. But, it was also easy to have some privacy."

"Lovely villa, fantastic pool and garden area. Bit of a walk to Kalyves but downhill. Easy to get a taxi back up! Cleaner was great. Company very responsive via email. Would have liked some information about things in the villa and where to go to shop and eat, taxi services to use, things to do around the area etc. It would have been nice to have been left basics like bottled water, coffee, bread when we first arrived. "We had a lovely stay at this apartment, the cool winds being up a mountain helped keep the hot weather bearable. The checkin was different but worked for us. There was two parking spaces which was handy for us as we hired two cars.The rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen is well fitted out with most items required to have a family holiday. All the bedrooms are fitted with aircon systems. The Wifi is very poor, we could not get any reception in the bedrooms snd had to purchase sim cards to get any form of wifi as we were still working whilst on holiday and needed Wifi. I believe there is only one router between three villas which is probably the issue. The toilet seats are loose and missing the securing nuts whis is pretty dangerous should someone slip off and hit their head. The two showers are very average, one shower is missing the sliding door and the hose doesnt fix into its bracked firmly so moves around. The second shower is in the bath and sprays towards the opposite wall which then poors onto the bath then onto the floor. Easy solution is to fit a shower curtain. But in general the villa is very nice and the views are pretty nice. Despite the few issues we had a very enjoyable stay. Oh and you will probably need a sat nav to find the villa the first time you drive there, its up a very windy road. Try the taverners 1.4km down the hill, they are very good. "

"Great service from booking through to our 2 weeks - excellent to have the villa cleaned and new bedding and bath towels provided twice during our stay - pool cleaned and rubbish taken away regularly. We had an issue with the dishwasher on our first evening- by the next day we had been given a temporary one and a new one was installed a day later.The villa its self has the most amazing views through out the day - you can spend many hours relaxing around the pool. Lovely taverna within walking distance - beach with beach bar 15 min walk. Kalives has all you need to dine in or dine out. Once you have found the turning off the road to the villa your fine - first time can be a bit tricky but directions given are useful. We had an excellent 2 weeks and loved exploring a new area "

"The villa is in a fantastic location with lovely gardens and a huge terrace with sunbeds. The views are fantastic. We hired cars which were useful for getting to the beach and into Chania. We were a family of mainly adult couples, so the ensuites were useful. They were all on the small side however. The children enjoyed the swimming pool but it was unheated so they were unable to stay in for a long time. The owners/agents were very helpful when a 'Sahara' rainstorm coated the patio, garden furniture and swimming pool with orange sand. They came and jet washed the affected areas and vacuumed the swimming pool 3 days running. There is another house being built next door so the pool was, on occasions, overlooked by builders. In view of this the owners allowed us to stay in the villa, on our last day until 3pm, when we needed to leave for our flight. This was a big help."
