Regarding the bedding, we have selected mattresses which we believe suit the majority of our guests, however of course each person has their own personal preference, which we cannot always accommodate. However, rest assured that if it was brought to our attention that you found the bed to be too firm for your liking, our friendly staff would have been more than happy to provide extra linen and a mattress topper to soften the bed. We are currently in the process of updating our compendium, and appreciate the importance of providing our guests with local information. We do have several stands at reception with maps, menus, and tourism information, or alternatively, you are welcome to enquire with our receptionists, who are always happy to provide guests with local knowledge and recommendations. Dear Kenzo, Thank you for taking the time for write your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our spacious rooms and the view of the lake which was provided. We are so pleased that you enjoyed our convenient location in the peaceful suburb of Varsity Lakes. Chancellor Lakeside Apartments offers free, secure onsite parking to all of its guests. There are two parking options available to our guests, both are secure behind the main gate; however one is behind a second gate. This section is located under Building A, therefore if you are residing in Building B, you will have to walk for about 30 seconds across the courtyard to access your building. The other parking area is directly below Building B, and offers a lift directly into the building. Regarding your bedding, in order that we may accommodate for all guest’s bedding requirements, our beds are transformable, which means that they are designed to transition from two single beds to a king bed. This is not simply two single mattresses pushed together. Regarding the amenities in your unit, the unit which you booked was a studio room, which does have a kitchenette (not a full kitchen), and comes equipped with cutlery and crockery for 2 guests, plus a mini fridge, microwave, sink, toaster and kettle. These are standard inclusions for a kitchenette. Please be advised that we also offer one bedroom apartments, and two bedroom apartments, which come equipped with a full kitchen. We find that these apartments tend to be more suited for our long stay guests  We are surprised to hear that you experienced an odd smell in our building; it’s possible that a guest was cooking in their unit. Rest assured though that each morning, our diligent onsite Caretaker Team clean and freshen our building, and if an ‘odd smell’ is ever noted, they’re sure to freshen up the area promptly.

Our reception desk is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 9am – 12pm. We do however have a 24 hours call service, and call out staff available to attend at any time, should you require assistance. We are pleased to hear that you appreciated our central location, and our close proximity to restaurants and bars; our Varsity Lakes location allows us to be away from the hustle and bustle of the central Gold Coast, while still remaining nearby to necessities, and just a short drive from the main tourist attractions. At this stage, we do only have one 1-bedroom apartment which has a disability equipped bathroom; however all of our studio rooms are fitted with walk-in showers. The configurations of our apartments were designed with the majority of guests in mind, and we find that most appreciate having a bath to relax in, or to bathe children. When you book next, please be sure to request a disabled access room, so that we can accommodate you more comfortably. We apologise for the cleaning issues that you found in your apartment, we pride ourselves on providing a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, however we are always looking to improve and will forward your experience onto our housekeeping team. With regards to your check-in experience, as our reception desk is not manned 24/7, we do have an afterhour’s check-in system for our guests arriving outside of office hours. Please be advised that upon booking, we would have emailed you a late-check in procedure so that you are confident to check in afterhours. However, should this email not be on hand, we also have clear signs at the front of reception explaining how to check in through the intercom with our afterhour’s staff. With regards to the instructions provided for checking out, and the use of your key cards, if you had checked in with reception, our friendly staff would have explained that the FOBs attached to your key cards are required for all access points; including the lifts and parking garage. To clarify, we are serviced apartments, not a hotel, which means that we do not provide service cleans daily, but weekly. Rest assured however, that should you require anything extra during your stay, such as extra linen or toiletries, that our friendly reception team would be happy to oblige.
