"We had a super birthday stay at Hope Cottage, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind after Christmas/a hectic few weeks. The decor is gorgeous bright and airy. It was spacious, really well appointed and you can really tell that a lot of thought went into making it feel cosy and welcoming. It’s a cracking spot too plenty within walking distance to please both kids and adults and a great base for exploring the Isle of Wight. "Fantastic! It was a little tricky to find by sat nav but the directions sent were spot on so follow them. Once we arrived it was dead easy - the lockbox is just outside, and spare keys inside There's plenty of room for your car, we have a zafira, and the outside space is very comfortable for relaxing or playing games. The hosts were lovely, right there if you need them but not if you don't. The house itself was beautiful and spotless. Plenty of chairs, seats, pots pans, crockery, cutlery, space...

"Hotel was in a great location. Room was very spacious and clean, and breakfast was fine. I think the price was a little high, but that was probably due to location. Also, our hot water in our kept getting cool. Overall, I would recommend and will return on my next visit to Southampton."

"The Beach House is a stunning period hotel with an amazing history. We’ve stayed here several times before, and always loved our visits, when we previously found the hotel’s bedrooms to be well equipped, comfortable and spacious. However, on this occasion we were unprepared to find our allocated room not being inside the main hotel but instead was located in a small, draughty annex on the other side of the hotel car park, which wasn’t ideal as we had a lot of wet and windy weather during our stay, and this made the short outdoor walk to and from the main hotel rather unpleasant and so this took the edge off our enjoyment. Our allocated room was described in the promotional material as a “Comfy Double”. Whilst the double bed was indeed very comfortable, I would say a better description of the room itself would be cramped rather than comfy! There was no wardrobe or chest of drawers anywhere in the bedroom, we only had a few pegs on the wall and a handful of hangers, so we kept most of our clothes inside our two small open suitcases on the floor area surrounding our bed, which wasn’t great and somewhat of a trip hazard to say the least, as there was very minimal space on either side of our bed. The bathroom was basic but clean with a nice warm towel rail and lovely big fluffy towels! Would’ve preferred a flexible shower head rather than the static raindance head though. We’d definitely revisit but next time we will make sure we request a room inside the main hotel!"

"The room was lovely and clean, missing a shelf in the bathroom but otherwise in great condition. We found the mattress to be too hard but the room was quiet with a nice view from the window. Breakfast was nice and the dining room wasn't crowded, the only thing missing for us was fried eggs. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the ships and Gunwharf Quay shops, cheap/free parking was another bonus. We would return to this hotel."
