"Con: Room was so tight on space, said it was remodeled but rusty electrical plug boxes, cracked sink, etc No ice machine - have to request ice from the desk and they give it out sparingly in a pre- made bag. The office closes at 10 pm and after that you can't get anything. There was jumping/thumping in room above which I mentioned to the office. It continued. Tv was hard to work as it kept going to wrong input. Requires a $50 deposit even though I had already pre-paid for the room through Expedia. Pet area had old nasty pet waste dried on it (artificial turf). We took the dogs elsewhere. Pro: no charge for the first two dogs"

"Despite hearing occasional light footsteps above, this is a very private, comfortable and well-equipped space. Most of all my husband loved the very hot water and i loved the uber comfortable bed! Julien and family are lovely hosts and very kind and responsive."

"Chrysalis' Cottage is our "go to" home in Portland. It is beautifully maintained and has everything we need. Each time we come, I notice improvements. It's comfy, cozy, and self-contained. Chrysalis and Mark are available when we need help. It's close to our kids who live in Woodstock and the neighbourhood is super cool and fun."

"Overall a nice house in a good location. The host was accommodating and responsive to messages. The listing didn’t say, that I could find, that host lived in the adjoining space. It was fine, but we were unaware when we arrived. Also, their dog barked a lot in the evenings. On our last night the dog barked from 11pm until after midnight. "
