As stated nice and clean. Food and drink good. Staff excellent receptionist very helpful, courteous polite. Night Porter was so helpful too.

Fairly basic but nice enough room. Lot of noise from functions suite on Saturday night but did stop before midnight - not so good if you have children. Some problems getting our room key to work. Unusually small TV. However, pleasant enough for the money and would stay again.

Gilvenbank needs a good clean
The staff were pleasant however our room need a good clean. The carpet obviously had not been vacuumed for quite some time. The edges were full of thick dust with remnants of previous customers over the main areas. The fan in the bathroom was disgusting. I have taken photos and will be contacting the hotel management direct. hame as we had stayed there at a family celebration 10 years previously and it was very clean then.

Over night stay
2 rooms booked next door to each other. We had double bed and children room with two single bed Overnight stay out of town away from busy centre. But close enough to get up next day to jump in car to all amenities and major roads.

Hotel is in a very dated & tired condition. Decor hasn’t been updated in years. Our bedroom had stained carpet and broken lampshade. Bed mattress very soft giving impression it needed to be replaced. Bathroom very basic. Shower over bath which leaked onto bathroom floor, consequently bottom of door warped. Toilet seat not attached properly. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Nice enough place but too hot inside in Summer.
Nice place, comfy bed, even tough it was two divans pushed together. The only thing was the temperature of the room: had to sleep with the French door to the Juliet balcony open, which on midsummers day means the dawn chorus starts at 3:30 a.m. Might have to request ‘accessible’ room next time as climbing in the bath to have a shower is hazardous for me. Food was nice as was the vino and reasonably priced for a hotel. Super breakfast, but again the room was stiflingly hot! Would stay here again if in the area.

Place very nice. Staff professional, polite, helpful and friendly. Accessible room is accessible clean and roomy however not completely disabled friendly or in a good location in the hotel. Beds were awful.

Great stay. Attending a wedding locally and unable to book room at venue. Allocated basic room which had a problem so upgraded by very helpful staff. Basic room was overpriced. Hotel has potential but was very, very quiet. Lovely breakfast included. Area taxis very expensive.

We arrived late and the night ported was very helpful. The room was comfortable but basic. The breakfast was very good. The only down side, which is a big one, is that the walls are not well soundproofed and the person in the room next to us, on one night, had the television on all night and I mean ALL night, we hardly slept at all. Apart from that it was good for a budget hotel.

Wonderful overnight stop
We are a family of three stayed for 1 night. The room we had was huge with 1 double bed, 1 single bed and a bunk bed which can accommodate 3 children. The room was generally clean with plenty of towels and toiletries provided. However, we did not make use of the tea/coffee provided as the kettle's heating element looked rusty.

Unbelievable hotel and restaurant/bar. Very beautiful area, food is top notch. everyone is friendly, courteous, and very helpful. When I come back to Glenrothes, Ill stay there again
