The flat is located on the third floor of a historical building called Falkland Mansions designed by J.C. McKellar, the renowned architect of Hyndland's high-end "superior" flats. Falkland Mansions exemplifies the iconic Glasgow red sandstone tenement style, featuring highly decorative "wally closes" (tiled communal entrance hallways), grand bay-windowed lounges, high ceilings, intricate plaster cornicing, and elegant stained-glass detailing.

As such, the flat is modern but the historic building and has no lift, as is the case with any historic tenement buildings in Glasgow, bringing together past and present, old and new.
