GETTING HERE
You are at the tip-top of the mountain. The last stretch of road is steep, narrow, and winding. This is normal for upper Gatlinburg and part of what makes the elevation and privacy possible. A standard sedan handles it fine in dry conditions. In winter weather, 4WD or chains are recommended. Once you arrive, the views make the drive worth every turn.
WILDLIFE
Black bears, bobcats, deer, and wild turkeys are regular visitors. Keep food and trash secured per Gatlinburg regulations. Most guests consider the wildlife a highlight.
