The place was amazing for my friends and I for new years. The HVAC system was missing a filter so I would suggest adding that.

Great Getaway in Gatlinburg

The property is nestled in the Ski Mountain area of Gatlinburg. It has a great view of Mt. Leconte and the aerial tramway as it makes its runs. The property was well suited for my wife and I and our 2 adult children, their spouses and children. There was plenty of room and the chalet was well furnished for our visit. The one premium that we enjoyed was several visits by bears of the neighborhood. With the secure gate into the deck area, there was no concern that the bears could get in and bother us as we observed them strolling down the street. With plenty of places to sit and sip coffee in the mornings either on the upper or lower deck, the chalet provided a nice calm place to stay away from the excitement of Gatlinburg. I would recommend this property for families or a couple looking for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

Based off the previous great reviews and amazing looking pictures in the listing I was really looking forward to staying here and thought I was getting more than my money's worth. The reality quickly turned out to be different. When we arrived we found acorns deep inside the cabin, which while annoying, isn't the end of the world. There we're also some bugs inside as well, again no big deal. Then came finding a clump of hair in a shower drain from a previous customer, that was more then annoying and really gross but we dealt with it and put it out of our minds. The hot tub was amazing! After we cleaned out about 6 very large spiders and their webs from around it, I get that its nature but if I'm staying at a cabin of this caliber, I expect a certain level of pest control at least on the porches. The true issue and safety concern of the weekend was the bear box being broken. On the morning of our departure, we set out 3 trash bags by the cars to take them to dump on the way out, in the 10 minute span the bags were out there we had a suprise visitor! Our trash bandit was a skinny, desperate looking mama black bear. Being less then 6 feet from the bear was a true safety concern. When I reached out to the owners regarding these issues I was told that I should've contacted them during my stay in order to have these issues fixed. So folks, if you stay here keep their number handy, you're going to need it.
