A/C didn’t work. Hot tub didn’t work. Reached out to the host about this. Someone was sent out 2 days later. A/C worked the last day of the trip. Hot tub wasn’t working apparently before we booked and they knew that because the repair man didn’t fill the water back up. We booked this place as a last vacation for my aunt who was on hospice who really just needed a comfy place to stay and a hot tub to help aches and pains. Based off of other reviews I thought it would be good but no one had booked this place for several months before we arrived and you could tell. I asked for a partial refund so we could maybe take her to a hotel for the last night of the trip so she could be comfortable and enjoy a hot tub. We were refunded $100 1 month later.
Overall, this was a fantastic place to relax and unwind after our mountain adventures! The kitchen was well-stocked and everything worked well. Having the Keurig was great for our family. Generally, the house was clean--especially where it counted. We never encountered any pests but we were careful not to leave food out as a precautionary measure for us and for future guests, as they do have ultrasonic pest control devices installed. The drive to the chalet was no worse than any other drive on the mountainous roads in that area--steep and a little uncomfortable your first trip up and down, but after that, it's not so bad (I have a crossover/SUV vehicle, but not 4WD, and we made it).
There were several bears and that was exciting, of course--we were able to watch safely from the kitchen window and from the deck! The fireplace was a nice bonus as well. We had an issue with the hot tub not working the first night and the response was quick and appropriate. We were very pleased with the attentiveness and politeness of our host, Miranda!
We really enjoyed spending time together in the living area. And if you have children, it's important to note that the primary bedroom with the king bed is on the first floor, while the other two bedrooms are upstairs.
Neighbors were friendly, and their dog likes to roam and let you know where the bears are. That was a bonus for us! But don't worry, they aren't too close. This property has the perfect amount of privacy!
Had a great time even some excitement a bear came to the kitchen window and watched us eat dinner.. kind of scary but very cool can't wait to come back!
We loved the cabin! It was the perfect get away for our family. Everything was clean and perfect. The high level of communication during our stay was greatly appreciated.
The cabin has an amazing view of the mountains from the deck and the owner is very nice and responsive. The property wasn't as clean as we would like it to be and it did not have enough of the essentials for 1 week of stay (toilette paper, soap, garbage bags, etc.) and we had to buy those ourselves. The gas grill did not have propane so we had to refill it on our own. Bears were walking by the cabin almost daily and we loved it! Overall we had a great experience and we would recommend it to others.
The cabin was an amazing spot for a nice view of the mountains, the drive up there was a little tricky if your not a fan of heights. Everything was close to the cabin 10 mins away from downtown!! The only 2 problems we had was the Wi-Fi did not work until the third day of our stay because of some electrical issues with the company and the power went out our second night of our stay which sucked.. but it wasn’t the owners fault which we understand but the owners were really helpful trying their best to fix the issues.
This chalet suited our family’s needs perfectly! The Mountain View’s from the deck were half the reason we booked it and they did not disappoint:) There was plenty of space for our family to spread out. The drive up to the cabin is steep and I can see why it would be tricky in inclement weather, but we had no issues and quickly became comfortable navigating the turns! Thank you!
The chalet was great, has everything you need to feel right at home and is very private. Communication with the owners was easy and quick if you have any problems (which we didn't).
The only drawback was the steep mountain roads leading up to the property. However the payoff is well worth it, with a beautiful panoramic view of the Smoky Mountains from the back deck.
