This is a newly remodeled townhouse duplex with living, dining, kitchen, 1/2 bath down, and 2 bedrooms, and one bath up. It is located in the center of the City, just 6 short blocks to the Seawall, the beach, bike rentals; and 11 walking blocks to The Strand Historical District with boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, attractions and night life. Directly across the street is the Bryan Museum, which has one of the largest collections of historical artifacts relating to Texas and hosts many fun and informative events. Driveway parking and street parking are available.

Really great getaway
The Cottage is a lovely little property adjacent to the Bryan museum. It's a great location within a short walk of the seawall to the south and Broadway to the north. The host is very responsive and accomodating and the property is great. Two comfy bedrooms upstairs, a very pleasant living room in front and a well equipped kitchen. There's a small but adequate enclosed back patio space for smokers or for pets to stretch their legs. Everything worked perfectly and was well marked. It's a quick drive to downtown venues and walkable to the beach. It felt not so much like a VRBO and more like staying at a friend's house for a few days. We would definitely go back. Two minor cautions. The street in front is pretty busy during the morning and evening so if you're real sensitive to traffic sounds, this might be a concern. Very quiet at night though. Also, the stairs to upstairs are a little on the steep side. They are very sturdy and there is a strong railing, so not a problem for us or most folks, but it might be a concern if you have someone with mobility issues.

Great spot and a great price
We enjoyed our stay at The Cottage; all of the information was sent to me a couple of days before so it was very easy to get into the house. It was very clean, there were cookies waiting for us 🍪 and cold bottled water in the fridge. Everything you might need was available, even chairs, towels and water toys, games, and toys. It’s a great place to stay in the great city of Galveston!

Surprising lil gem!
The owner did a wonderful job with this place! I didn’t realize it was 2 story, but I probably missed it in the listing. Everything is marked and labeled nicely throughout the entire unit! The beds were comfy! The shower had some of the better water pressure I’ve experienced thru different rentals. But the best part: a garage that we were able to park inside?! That was a 1st for us in close to 10 rentals. I will say that 4 people is probably the max you’d want to stay due to its cozy size. But this unit would be a great central base to explore the whole island from. We only stayed for a night since we were cruising out the next day, but we will keep this place in mind should we invest more time in Galveston.

Perfect fit
We needed an overnight before hopping on a cruise. This place was exactly what we needed. House was great, host was awesome. Communication lacked nothing. They even had cookies waiting on the table. That was a very sweet thing to do! I bet it's great for beach trips as well, even though we didn't have time for that. We saw there was an ornament globe with instruction for filling it with shells you may find on the beach. Really a great idea and very thoughtful of the host to do. House was super clean, everything was great!

This is a cute little duplex. Diane pays close attention to detail down to the labels indicating which light switch turns on which lights. Its centrally located and easy to find and get around the island.

Property manager said to call after arrival. Couldn’t find her contact information. In the bedroom to the left at the top of the stairs there was mouse droppings (feces) under the pillows on the bed. My traveling companions weren’t happy and freaked out.

Very quaint
We booked the property the night before our Royal Caribbean Cruise. It was a nice property that had everything we needed. It was close to the beach. Our kids loved that the owner left Easter cookies for them. Will stay again if we return to Galveston.

Overnight to attend a wedding in Galveston
Very nice and clean with lots of attention to the little details. Had some trouble with the TV upstairs and if it was more important at the time, I would have called about it. Will likely book again for a weekend in Galveston as the amenities are nice and the location was perfect. Had a good walk to the beach with my dog before we departed and the neighborhood was charming.

Fishing trip
Hot water didn’t work and I didn’t realize until I went to shower in the morning! The host’s representative re-acted quickly but I didn’t have time to get it fixed and wait for the tank to heat up before heading out. Very nice host and clean place and I’m sure this is a very unusual event but it made my stay a negative.
