Gakona Lodge

2.5 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (207)
"This adorable lodge had very comfortable beds and provided a fan to put in the window so that we could sleep cool, the way we like. The restaurant and the bar are both right next door, easy walking distance. It is private but also right on the way from Wrangell St Elias national Park. The surroundings are beautiful (there is a stunning view from one of the bathrooms) and we had a great time chatting with fellow travelers and local residents alike. They thought of everything, and even provided a...

"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Raven cabin for 3 nights and loved our stay. We spent 4 days hiking, driving the Nabesna road, relaxing, and enjoying nature. The cabin is rustic, but very cozy, and the bed was so comfortable. We didn’t have any cell service, but that’s part of why we enjoyed our stay so much. We used the lodge’s internet once to check for any urgent notifications, but otherwise we (and our dog Finn) used the weekend to completely unwind. Do bring bug spray though, the...

"Our group of 3 had a great time staying at the Lodge & Alaskan cabin at mile post 28 on the Nabesna Road in Wrangell/St Elias National Park. The owners are great hosts & make sure that you have everything you need. If you need anything, just ask. The Alaskan cabin was very well designed & built and will comfortably sleep 4. The kitchen is well stocked & has a starter set of everything you’ll need. The pellet heater worked very well & automatically kept the cabin warm. Since this location...
