The Rabbit Retreat is a cute little rental retreat hidden away in the mountains of Tennessee. If you would like to get away for a while with the family or alone, this is a great place.
It is about an hour from Nashville which is still close enough if you want to get into the city. The drive in is scenic. It's only a few minutes to Gainsboro with good restaurants or 25 minutes to Cookville with more mainstream fare. GPS directions will get you there, but the driveway is a little hard to find at first.
Be aware there is hardly any cell coverage at the location. If you are depending on a cell for directions and communications, you'll likely have no signal within 5-10 minutes. There is WiFi in the home that works well with WiFi calling inside the rental. For us, this was a bonus to avoid the electronic distractions.
The rental itself had everything we needed including paper products that were more than sufficient for our stay. There were plenty of linens and towels and such. There were also cleaning products.
The owner is very responsive and has local people for any issues, though we had none during our stay.
The prime feature of this property is definitely the porch. It is a large and inviting porch with a swing and plenty of seating. We found ourselves naturally gravitating to the porch for breakfast/coffee in the morning and dinner in the evening. Everyone enjoyed our time sitting on the porch and talking with minimal electronics.
