The reception staff at this hotel were absolutely outstanding they actually exceeded me expectations my dad had an accident which resulted in surgery and hospital stay he was so poorly we had to extend our hotel rooms via the insurance they were so good and understanding I will never forget there kindness the one lady even called the hospital for me as the language barrier was so hard and exhausting at such a terrible time for us they were just outstanding and I will be forever grateful thank you so much i

Big room, clean-good housekeeping. Pool area nice and clean. Breakfast buffet plentiful with lots of choice. Only minor negatives- balcony lock didn’t work in room initially which was scary 6 floors up with 2 year old-this was fixed once reported. Air con was off for 3 days and the room was too warm, and the room doors didn’t lock from inside so toddler could just open and get out. We had a a nice stay and would stay again.

Very Uncomfortable Nights Sleep!
The rooms are a nice size, but really in need of an update. The beds were terrible, I could feel the springs from the mattress sticking in my back as I tried to sleep. Very uncomfortable and difficult to get a decent night's sleep. The minibar was empty and the sheets were old and warn. There was WIFI in the room but it was very slow. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food passable, so this is a mixed review.

Ok they advertise as Hotel Monarque Torreblanca but actually Hotel Torreblanca confusing after drive to it! Room cleaned four times in the week bed made one day but card left in door it looked like the cleaners had been interrupted! Breakfast ok always the same tea coffee water juice. We went half board and at dinner no tea or coffee or water you had to pay if you wanted that! I asked for tap water and had to have an argument to get it!!! Water should be on the tables it’s a basic human need so was not happy they charged two euros for a bottle! So to be clear if you are half board there is not tea coffe or water available!!! Hotel was tired looking the air con was so loud. Very disappointed

Good hotel
We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. The bedrooms were very comfortable and night entertainment was good ----you cannot expect West End shows. I had read mixed reviews re the food quality and was a little anxious---however we enjoyed the food and always found something that suited us--I wonder what some people expect from a hotel who is catering for such large numbers---if people expect gourmet meals I suggest they go out to 5 star restaurants and pay the price. As somebody who does a lot of homebaking and cooking myself I was very happy. Also a special word of appreciation to Letitia on reception who was so helpful and courteous. I would certainly return to this hotel .It was great to be so near train station for transfers from airport and daily trips.

Tired Hotel and of course not a 4 starts - but I could have forgotten that if the rest would have been better. Unfortunately it wasn't the case. ENTRANCE Was OK with lots of dirty sofas and free Wi-Fi. Ramp for disable & buggies. Toilets not very clean either. 2 Lifts that work randomly –slow & old. RESTAURANT - Small but OK. Tables got tables clothes that’s good. Short of staff the waiters did everything – no chicken staff present. The fire exit was blocked with baby chairs & other stuff. Cleanliness not good – I saw a waiter laying on the table clean and not taking the cutlery by the handle but for the place you eat. and at the same time they did collect plates that were left with food. FOOD the same every day – I meant 7 things and not very good quality. Well they had 3 different kind of cooking eggs, 3 different sausages, very poor. No very much fresh fruit. 4 desserts with the same kind of pastry the different was on the top. I was literally in sock. I have never seen that before in a “4 starts”. we only had breakfast & dinner. ROOM was not bad tired but bed comfortable. Towel & sheet torn. room Air conditioning made so much noise. Our corridor wasn’t hovered at all in the week we were there

Friendly service
Clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, 2 pools in spacious gardens so you're not all crammed in, very close to beach, fridges in rooms, lovely housekeeping staff. But.... This is not a 4 star hotel, whilst the rooms were clean, there is a lot of chipped woodwork, wardrobe handles missing, towels raggedy((sometimes with holes). Food good, we didn't go hungry and we weren't ill, but this is catering en masse and so what's offered reflects this. Location ideal for exploring other areas on the costa del sol, would stay again but not if expecting a luxury break.

Old-fashioned but nice
I think the hotel was quite okay for the price; sufficiently clean (except for the balcony), quiet and spacious. What I didn't like was the breakfast: there were a lot of alternatives but the quality was not too good (especially the juices and coffee were really bad). Since the price was okay, I would consider staying there again, and having breakfast somewhere else.

Wonderful Hotel. Great Value.
Enjoyed my stay here. Large hotel. Many facilities including restaurants and live music bar. About 5 minutes walk to the beach and bars. Friendly receptionist put me on a high floor as i wanted good views. I got a view of the mountains, resort and sea all in one from the 9th floor veranda. Room and bathroom were both large and clean but bedroom was old fashioned but that din't bother me. Wifi in room is charged at 5 Euros a night but it's free in the reception which is what i decided to do. And it was fine. Breakfast was great. Amazing choice on offer from fried eggs and bacon to contiental food. Only about 7 parking places outside front of hotel but there is a free car park around the corner. I was allowed to park out the front near a wall. My GPS Lattitude and longtitude brought me to a roundabout on the main Torreblanca Avenue but the entrance is up the hill 200 metres from the roundabout and ten metres after Calle Covadonga but the map on Hotels.com is very accurate if you zoom in.

Great location
This hotel offers great value. Right beside the station for travel to the airport or to Fuengirola. Breakfast buffet is wonderful, hot and cold selection unmatched for the overall price paid for this overnight stay. Car parking a bit difficult, as hotel car park is a 200 metre walk. However, overall, really good.

OK quiet base hotel
OK hotel as a base as we did not spend much time in it, but it is not in Fuengirola, but in quiet area of Torreblanca (next to Torreblanca station) Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful with special dietary needs. Breakfast was pre-prepared, but enough choice of breads and a few fruits/cereals and enough hot food selection. Spanish/old style rooms, good size, view from quite a large balcony of mountains on one side and sea on other (in between buildings). 5 minute walk to nice stretch of seaside with friendly cafe on the corner directly down below, but not much else in the immediate area. However, could take bus or train to Fuengirola (2-10 mins away)- each comes every 20 mins though. Entertainment programme for older people mainly- bingo/live music. Flamenco show ok. Receptionist not most helpful in giving recommendations. Better to go Ronda by train to Fuengiorla and bus from coach station round the corner in terms of timing (think around 11.30am, and cost is slightly cheaper than train). If you just want to relax, mainly on beach, with a few daytrips, this hotel would be a suitable basic base, and has lovely views around the hotel. However, for younger people, or people who want to do more local sightseeing/go somewhere a bit more lively, go for walks along marina etc I would recommend Benalmadena or Fuengirola. Very easy to get to airport from train station (route with no stairs available! around corner from hotel- cost 1.90) but only runs till around 10pm.

Happy to recommend
I've stayed here a number of times now. I only use it as somewhere to sleep so can't comment on facilities or entertainment, it's rooms are clean and comfortable. A big plus is its right next to Torreblanca station and only 35min train ride from the airport. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beach is a 5 min walk, though it is quite steep for those who have mobility issues.

short break in spain
having stayed at this hotel 7 times we noticed a lot of improvements and upgrades within the hotel and food choice. The staff are always friendly and helpfull. The rooms are typical spanish and the added bonus of having bbc1 and bbc2 on the t.v. was pleasing. It is a walk up and down the hill to prom and beach, but the bonus of the train station( to and from airport) being only a 5 minute walk( no transfers required) makes this hotel easy to get to.

Hotel Torreblanca Review June 2012
The hotel is ageing slightly as seen when even the sign on its roof is missing letters. The food is good although get to meals early as it quickly goes cold. The internet wifi is only in the foyer area. Bedrooms are confortable enough but I had to remove the waterproof blanket on my bed (not in the habit of peeing myself since I was 3) for decent comfort. Good pools for kids especially. Hotel entertainment not brilliant but good enough to give you an option. Car parking is down the hill 400m. It takes 2hrs to do the hotel transfer from the airport in Malaga! (Not hotels fault granted). Good, cheap and fair hotel which I would return to. Best bits - food and bathing areas. Most rooms have some sort of sea view.

There is nothing dramatic about the hotel, I've stayed there several times and it is reliable. For me the price is right and it is very convenient, particularly the railway, I would hate to rely on the place entirely for food, not that the food is not good, the hotel does the best it can remembering the numbers it caters for.

Be aware!
Certainly not 4**** and maybe just 3***. I booked 6 weeks in advance and asked for a room on the 6th floor or above and was given 3rd floor because "all 6th floor or above occupied". (See other reviews / advice ) on here. Although the room allocated was acceptable the bathroom had a shower that did not function properly. Most of the guests are elderly Spanish or German and there is little information to help you find your way around in the first few days. It has a feeling of a convalescent home. Just glad we did not book all inclusive as the meals are very repetitve and the only bar available did not seem to function until late evening. The lifts operate slowly and our record wait was 5minutes 23 seconds on one occasion. WIFI is only available on the ground floor but it is reliable Although very near the station be aware it is not easy to locate on arrival, if dark. I departed feeling sorry for the staff who had to try and make this hotel comfortable.

Good for a Night
We stayed at this hotel because of the price, which included breakfast and dinner. The hotel was in ok condition given its age. The refrigerator in the room didn’t work and the bathroom door handle was a bit tricky. That being said the room was big and had everything we needed for a night. The dinner wasn’t great, but for what we paid we didn’t mind. A lot of the hot food was cold by the time we got to it, so you may consider getting there early. Breakfast is very typical, everything you need but nothing that will blow you away. We were a bit disappointed there is only an outdoor pool and it isn’t heated. Overall we were satisfied because we just needed the hotel for a night. However, you would not want to stay at the hotel much longer than that.

Good central location
The hotel was very spacious, clean and in a very convienient location. Out of the other places to stay location wise this was convieniant due to distance to beach and away from main road. At the same time it was next to the train line which may i add was very punctual, clean and very easy to use as well as cheap for the service it provides if you were like us and wanting to go different places along costal del sol. The hotel room was spacious, had good views and from what we saw was clean all for a very good competitive price. The choice for breakfast was beyond expertations really, there was always something to satisfy everyone. The only quarm i would have would be that the breakfast buffet certainly wasnt the hottest i have ever eaten, but that certainly didnt put us off eating it all up, even our fussy 9 year old!! Overall i would reccomend this hotel to all if your wanting to stay in costa del sol and if we were to go again i would deffinately use again.

Good value holiday
I stayed here on my own for a week in October. Paid for a single room but got a nice big twin room to myself. It was on the 8th floor and had great views. I think the lower floors would see only other buildings so ask for upper levels. That said there are only two lifts and there can be some long waits. The food was very good in the evenings and I loved the various salads. There was always choice though. One or two things could have been hotter but there is a microwave to give it a blast if it needs it. Location is good, right at the station, 2 mins to the beach then a nice flat walk into town if you want shops etc. Staff were great and I would be happy to go back to this hotel

Definately not a four star hotel
When we checked into our rooms we discovered that we were given a twin room opposed to a double room as requested. When we questioned this no effort was made to rectify the error, being told in a very off-handed manner that we'd have to wait until the following morning. We quickly made the decision that the hotel weren't going to bother moving us, otherwise they would never have given us a twin room in the first place. The beds themselves were extremely hard and the pillow each bed had was extremely soft, giving no neck support at all. The room was lacking basic features, such as a clock/alarm, instructions on how to use the phone, no answerphone service and no list of hotel charges. The in room safe clearly hadn't been changed since the building was built- I think it would barely accomodate a netbook, so don't even think about taking a laptop to the hotel. The walls and ceilings were relatively thin, and we could hear what was happening in the adjacent rooms most of the time. While this is due to the age of the building, one wonders why the hotel hasn't installed sound-proofing to their rooms. On the plus side, the hotel was clean and barely a five minute walk from the beach, but that isn't enough to cover up the fact that this is either a poor three star hotel, or a decent two star hotel.

Didn't want to leave!
This was a lovely trip all round, made doubly so by having somewhere quiet, clean and comfortable to come back to. As I travel on foot, the Torreblanca being literally a few yards from the train station was a distinct advantage. Didn't eat there so can't comment on food, but staff were friendly and helpful, and atmosphere very welcoming. Perfect location for walking along the beach front, excellent local shops and restaurants. The room itself was huge, with a well-equipped bathroom and balcony overlooking the sights and sounds of the town, and a fridge - a must for keeping water chilled in a hot climate. For me - travelling on foot, not having a great deal of Spanish, and travelling as a lone female - this was the perfect base to explore a new area. I felt safe, secure and left to my own devices as much as I wanted to be, but there was always someone around if you needed to ask anything. All in all I wish I could've stayed longer, and will definitely go back.

the torreblanca hotel is very close to the station which is great as you can go into fuengirola, los boliches or to malaga the trains run frequently which is great and it only takes about 15 minutes to get to the airport once you are on the train, we loved the beach which is a short walk which plenty of cafes and restaurants along the front, the only thing we did not like was that we found the beds a bit hard and the fridge took a long time to cool the water we put in, other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

My third visit to the Torreblanca on a golfing trip. Ideal location with easy parking & a train station right at the hotel which is two stops from Fuengirola. Nice restaurants/bars down on the front as well. Good sized clean rooms with balcony. Only two minor points - breakfast is not up to much but can be had at the restaurants at the front quite cheaply and two 6 person lifts for 9 floors! Can get very congested at peak times

Good place to vegetate in sun
The hotel is 4 minutes walk from the beach and you can walk there in your swimwear. Decent choice for breakfast for vegetarians and others I guess. Sizeable rooms and balconies. Two swimming pools with lots of sunbeds to soak sun in. The interior is dated in places but for what it offers -- a base for a sun-drenched pleasantly uneventful stay -- I could not care less. My only gripe was with the pool lifeguard who wanted to get home early and so locked gates to the pool ares half an hour ahead of the closing time, and if you were there he stared at you like you ruined his youth.

A Hidden Gem
Location is approximately 30 seconds walk from front door round to left and you are at the train stop which is ideal if you are heaving round bulky luggage! This is worth the price of admission alone. Hotel rooms are very large, bright and airy and every room has its own balcony and oodles of storage space. Breakfast is excellent with great choise and variety. A 5 minute walk brings you down the hill on to the main esplanade with the beach, restaurants, bars right there which stretch from Carvahal to the left and to Fuengirola Castle and town to the right.

30 min €1.50 trip by train from Malaga Airport to Torreblanca Station. Out of station and left up a Cul de Sac for 3 minutes and your in the hotel. Very helpful and efficient receptionist. Nice big rooms with sea view. Breakfast had plenty of variety all self service including tea and coffee from vending machines which were quite good. Lunch and dinner also self service with plenty of choice. I don't eat meat but there were plenty of soups, salads, paella and fish plus several desserts. Drink was self service but at €7 for a bottle of wine worth the walk. Most of the residents were Spanish and over 60 which suited me as they make less noise than children. The hotel had two good pools and gardens. It was only 5 mins downhill to beach with miles of beach both directions. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Good few day break hotel
The Hotel was easy to find and the Station is just next door. This isnt a problem at all re noise. We used it daily to travel around the area. At 2 euros each its a Brilliant and easy way to get to the Hotel from the airport. 4**** its not and it may be a little jaded but this reflects in the price.. The area is quiet although you can walk into the resort about 20 mins or the convenient train. Its mainly Spanish that use the Hotel at this time of the year. We opted to have the evening meal as was unsure re cafes / bars around but it is worth having and not expensive. Overall would recommend for an inexpensive break in the area.
