Considered the best urban park in the area, Fremont Central Park is well worth a visit. Located about 29 kilometres from San Jose, Fremont Central Park covers an area of 34 hectares and there is plenty to do for the whole family. Based around Lake Elizabeth, the 3 kilometre track around the lake is used throughout the day by walkers, joggers and cyclists. There are plenty of picnic tables and BBQ pits, some of which you can book ahead of time through the park headquarters.One relatively recent addition is the popular water park, Aqua Adventure which charges for admission. Here kids and adults can cool off in Bucket Bay and the Candle Lighters Fortress of Fun. There are also plenty of places where you can work up a sweat with 4 playground areas, soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a golf driving range and ball fields all within walking distance. Fremont is renowned for its diverse population, so you can often spot tai chi, fan and sword training taking place. Choirs also get together here, providing some lively music as a beautiful-sounding backdrop to your walk. Dog owners will be pleased to know that there is a special park for their canine friends where dogs are allowed off the leash and can socialise freely. Other animals to spot in the park are the ducks and geese that call Lake Elizabeth home: to get up close to them, you can hire a boat.Fremont Central Park is open at all hours of the day.
