Top Freedom Leisure Newent Hotel Reviews
Outstandingly Situated Cosy Shepherds Hut
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely simple hut with electricity. Bathroom with shower, toilet & sink. Also another toilet in a separate room. Kitchen was very basic, but functional for simple food. Hosts were lovely."
Stylish modern home with games room, luxury kitchen and two en suite bedrooms.
10/10 Excellent
"Great property for our family gathering. Really nice indoor and outdoor space, with enclosed garden perfect for small children. All fixtures and fittings in the house were high quality, and there were lots of pots, plans, dishes etc for cooking and dining for a large group. We really enjoyed playing pool and table tennis in the games room. In addition it was a beautiful and unspoiled area of the country, with a great mix of outdoor activities and interesting history."
The George Hotel
8/10 Good
"This is my second time staying at The George. Whilst it may be a little tired round the edges, and not the most polished of places to stay. It does have very friendly staff, and does serve great beer! I'm sure I will be back again next time I am working in the area. I would rather stay in a 'real pub' than a modern over polished replica like many pubs have become these days. Yes It would be nice if the TV was a bit bigger, and yes it would have been great to have an ensuite (some rooms do have them, others have a private bathroom down the corridor) but that isn't the end of the world. They dont serve food, but there are other places within an easy walk to get food from. If you want somewhere simple (with a comfortable bed), very friendly staff, and a great couple of pints, you could do a lot worse than staying here. And the prices are also very reasonable for the room, and the refreshments!"
The Old Winery Cottage
8/10 Good
"This is a lovely cottage. In terms of size, it was just right for me, my wife and the dog. The cottage consists of a sizeable conservatory, a large kitchen/lounge area, and a large double bedroom with a modern ensuite bathroom. Sofas and beds were very comfortable. There is a lovely view of the rolling Gloucestershire countryside from the conservatory. The immediately surrounding area includes a vineyard, which is ideal to walk the dog. Obviously a car is essential to get about and the lane is narrow. I'd advise to always turn left out of the drive and head towards the B4215 to go anywhere, rather than go through several miles of narrow lanes in the other direction. We all (dog included) enjoyed our six-night stay. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, such as the old picturesque market town of Ledbury, Gloucester Quays and Ross on Wye. Best local pub meal is to be had at The Beauchamp Arms at Dymock and the Kings Arms in Newent is a close second. It is actually worth affording Newent itself a bit of time too. Finally, a big thanks to Mel for her friendly and respectful hosting. The welcoming gift of wine from her own vineyard was a nice surprise; the red was excellent!"

"We’ve just come back from a weeks stay in Lodge 3, an absolutely stunning, spacious, very clean, immaculate lodge, with everything thing you needed, in a lovely quiet setting. The local apple juice and jute bag were a lovely welcome touch. We would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend Ford Farm Lodges."
1 bedroom accommodation in Brand Green, near Redmarley
10/10 Excellent
"Was absolutely beautiful and couldn’t have wished for a more relaxing holiday . John the owner was helpful and welcoming nothing was too much trouble . The only comment would make the tv in lounge area to high and could do with being a bit bigger . Also sofa could do with being changed wasn’t the most comfortable ."
