"Clean room and not noisy at night "

"Non valley room we had in the back had parking lot (which is understandable) but also homes on the back property with a lot of junk out front. "

"I wasn’t expecting anything mind blowing, and the woman at the front desk was really nice and that area was clean, but when I got to my room, it was a different story even though the bed was clean the surrounding room, the bathroom and the kitchen area were also filthy that I didn’t feel comfortable in the bed even though it was the cleanest part of the room I only encountered one cockroach, but that’s enough isn’t it? It went through an entire package of wet wipes, trying to wipe down everything to no avail. The blinds in the bathroom are so covered in filth. I actually tried to take them down and wash them in the shower, but they would not come down. There were no curtains in the kitchen, so anybody walking down the alley could look right into my apartment. All the furniture was mismatched and had stickers all over it and there was a healthy layer of dust on many things, but it was so late at night I had to deal with it and managed to get a few hours of sleep, but left promptly in the morning. I was going to do some laundry at the laundry room, but there were some “extracurricular activities” going on up there by the other tenants so I just stayed in my room. There’s no excuse for that kind of filth, where people will be sleeping. And I couldn’t return my keys because the lobby door was locked in the morning so I put them in the mailbox. Hopefully, they found them."

"What a charming place. Loved the wine and cheese in the afternoon. Breakfast was homemade, original one of the best we have ever had. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the charm and all the little details, tea, china, furnishings. They recommended a Mexican restaurant for dinner with the best fish tacos ever. Will definitely come again!"

"The person that checked us in was friendly. We stayed in room 205 which was a little small but the massively high ceiling made it seem a lot bigger. The bathroom was huge and clean. The sheets on the bed were incredibly soft and the bed was comfortable. The building itself is very cool and has historic photos everywhere. We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. Best Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. "

"Shaw House Inn is an amazing place to stay! The inn is well maintained, the bed was very comfortable, we felt comfortable making use of the common areas, and the breakfast was farm-fresh and delicious! Would highly recommended Shaw House Inn."

"Having just packed up from an 8-day camping trip, the sweet, comfy and very private living room and bedroom suite above the garage was perfect for me. The rooms were very clean, there was plenty of hot water, the towels were new and soft and the Dish TV service excellent--plus the hosts kind and attentive. I hope to return to charming Ferndale one day, and enjoy staying at the old inn once again. "
