Welcome to the quaint village of Fortescue, a Bayshore community in Cumberland County. The beaches along the Delaware Bay are relaxing and peaceful. Fish, swim, kayak or crab at your leisure. Enjoy acres of protected wildlife refuge along the shore and inland. Close to Turkey Point, Bivalve and historic Millville. Our adorable cottage sleeps up to four people and is walking distance to the State and Higbee's Marinas. Charter a boat or launch your own. Have dinner at the Charlesworth Inn or breakfast at Higbee's Luncheonette. Walk to the beach and enjoy our famous sunsets.

Cozy comfort near beach

Relaxing visit. Walk to beach, fish, collect sea glass, great seafood at Red Eye Crab, convenient to luncheonette and bait shop. Really enjoyed our stay!

Excellent 2nd stay!

This was our 2nd stay and it did not disappoint. Cute, comfortable, beautiful sunrises and quiet community. Our pup loved the beach that was just a short walk away. The cottage itself is so quaint and well equipped with whatever you need.

Perfect size!

It was the perfect size for me and the dogs. We were coming back to see family and just needed a clean, local spot to spend nights. This was perfect and I'll definitely book again when visiting in the future.

We stayed in September and we had a wonderful time. The house was very clean and the hospitality of the manager was great! We will definitely stay there when we visit Fortescue again!

Fortescue Sea Glass Hunting trip

We had a wonderful time at Fortescue. We go every year to sea glass hunt. This property is the perfect place to stay. Clean and cozy! We love it!

Very cute and comfortable cottage! We enjoyed our stay and appreciated all of the extras like keurig pods, shampoo, etc. We also enjoyed the one restaurant in town, the Charlesworth, with its delightful owner and excellent seafood, and walking on the beach with horseshoe crabs. We look forward to a future visit.

Great place to stay

My family had a great stay here! The property is clean and well cared for. The kitchen sink has minor slow drain problem, but it's being addressed. The house is tidy and cozy. The hosts were exceptionally helpful and go out of their way for their guests. We would stay here again.

Nice quiet dog friendly get away

House was clean and had everything we needed. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Dogs allowed on the beach a big plus! The owner is very kind and helpful with any questions. We would totally rent again.

Amazing Cozy Home

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well maintained. Lots of information about local spots and a sweet welcome letter from the hosts. Our pup loved running in the sand and walking along the water. Everyone we met was extremely friendly. It was perfect for our needs and we will stay again!

Fall Fishing Trip

We traveled as two couples for a short fishing trip. We absolutely loved the house and we met the host, (great guy), while we were surf fishing. The house was stocked with everything we could need. We plan to return.

Family fun at Fortescue

We had a great time at the property! Quiet beach location. Love the bay. We fished off the beach and caught all sorts of fish! The sunsets are beautiful. Owner was easy to communicate with and how was very comfortable. Hope to return soon.

A Little Slice of Heaven

We’ve just left from our second stay at The Sand Castle, and was just as wonderful as our first stay! Clean, comfortable, and an incredibly friendly small community! It’s got a fishing community vibe, and the residents are super friendly. We spent most of our nights cooking a nice dinner and walking to the beach to see the fabulous sunsets! If you’re looking for nightlife, this is not the place for you! If you want a small relaxing laid back vibe, it is the place for you!

Fortescue. The near by fishing town of far away.

My girlfriend, dog and I rented the Sandcastle for 3 nights. The house was immaculate and recently renovated and the new gas fireplace/heater was perfect during the chilly nights. The property manager was present if needed and has thoroughly stock the property with essential items. If your looking for a near by getaway that is peaceful,picturesque with not much to do other than enjoy Delaware bays scenery and fishing, then this is the place for you. .

Happy to have discovered 4TSQ

The house was sparkling clean and decorated so nicely. Check-in/out was a breeze. We loved that the property was dog friendly. The bay beach is walkable and sunsets from the docks were amazing! We found sea glass and my husband caught his biggest striped bass ever. The Sea Chest shop in town had lots of unique items and we picked up stickers, t-shirts and can koozies at Higbee’s Marina. We dined in each night but hope to check out the Charlesworth Restaurant in town on our next visit. A special thanks to the neighbors for making us feel right at home.

The Sand Castle

This property was amazing in every way! It was my husband and myself for half of the time, and our daughter and her fiancé for a couple of nights. It was cozy, comfortable and clean. The sunsets on the Delaware Bay were the most beautiful I have ever seen! In the past, we have always gone to Wildwood Crest, but I wanted to try something new. It was great! We did drive to Wildwood to go to the beach because we really like the beach there. If you’re looking fir the Wildwood atmosphere, this is not the place for you. If you want to be in a calm and peaceful environment this IS the place for you! We encountered many friendly people and always felt safe. Ken and Suzanne left water, beer and coffee for us to enjoy. If we had any questions they were easily reached and helped with whatever we needed. If you do rent this adorable little place, you will not be disappointed!
