Just minutes from the popular NJ Motorsports Park in Millville, Fortescue is a small fishing village on the picturesque Delaware Bay that has a postcard-like ambiance that you will find incredibly relaxing and perfect for a getaway! Once known as the weakfish capital of the world, Fortescue is famous for it's beautiful beaches, party boat fishing, crabbing, world-famous birdwatching, and it's also a photographer's paradise. Just minutes away from Bivalve, where there are museums and NJ's working tall ship, the AJ Meerwald. There is also seasonal sightseeing and eagle watching for all. Take a special birdwatching and sightseeing tour with captain Dave aboard Maurice River Cruises. This home will not dissappoint any photographer as well with the views from the front and back of the property on the surrounding wetlands that expand as far as the eye can see and is perfect for sunset and sunrise photos! This amazing home has three gorgeous bedrooms, brand new full bath and laundry, new kitchen, living, and dining room! Make this your new special getaway place year after year!

Birding Lovers Dream
Perfect getaway for a bird lovers vacation. We walked on the beach daily, took photos of numerous osprey, eagles and wildlife of Egg Island and Fortescue. We hiked the local park preserves and visited the cohanzick zoo. We even got a private tour of the AJ Meerwahl tall ship. The place was well kept, clean and had all the necessary amenities. We loved our stay! Thank you!

The perfect, peaceful getaway!
If you're looking to relax and enjoy insanely beautiful views, while staying in an immaculate, home away from home... this is THE place!!! I like to refer to Fortescue as a "sleepy little fishing town." Communication was on point. This is the second time that I've stayed at "The Eagles Nest," and I have all intentions of returning... soon!! :)

The owners of this home went above and beyond to supply anything you might need during your stay. Small touches throughout show how mindful and accommodating they are. Our family resides on the island all year and now we have a place to stay while visiting!

The perfect, peaceful getaway!!
The Eagle's Nest is the perfect little gem in a quaint, quite fishing town! The view of the Delaware Bay and the sunsets is absolutely beautiful. The house is completely renovated, immaculate, and the perfect amount of space for a family of 3-4. (or a solo trip to get away from all of the "noise.") The owner's communication was on point. I mayyy be a bit obsessed with the new washer and the setup (also w/dryer) being in the bathroom made it simple to do two loads of laundry, I wish I brought more and I LOATHE doing laundry! It rained all day, my only full day there, so I didn't get to walk around the neighborhood, but still enjoyed my time there. :) My best friend and I are already booked to go back next month, and I'm very much looking forward to returning! Thank you, Melanie & Jeff!!

What a beautiful spot! It was everything that I was hoping for and more: A really beautiful view, quiet town, clean and cozy house and I couldn’t have asked for better hosts. Jeff and Melanie were really gracious and so helpful in letting me know what to check out in the area. I plan on coming back!
