We really loved this lodge out in the Glen. It was super clean, easy to check in, and very tidy. Also, our GPS took us directly to Achanellan, so finding it was super easy. While we enjoyed the solitude, it should be noted that this lodge is a full 30-35 minutes outside of Ft. William. Single track, uneven roads and livestock make the journey both to and from the lodge take much longer than listed. Additionally, the lodge advertises a washer and dryer, but we only found a drying rack rather than an actual electric dryer. There is a gate that needs shutting as well, which confused us as it was wide open when we arrived late in the afternoon. Instructions were given by our third day via messenger, but it would have been helpful to have that listed in the physical instructions found in the lodge. Finally, we lost internet due to a major storm overnight, so we had to kind of guess as to what the exact check-out instructions were as they were also not listed in the printed instructions. All in all, we would return again; but we suggest some updates to the advertised listing to more accurately describe Grianan Lodge and to include more instructions in the printed house booklet.
