Welcome to Sandy Cay!! Located on the beach and walking distance to popular Times Square. Sandy Cay is a cute, beachy green two-story cottage style beach house.
The lowest-level of the home is the enclosed garage with parking inside for 1 car and outside parking for 2 cars. As you make your way up to the 2nd floor (main floor) via the outside stairway or the elevator located in the garage area, you open the door to a light, bright cottage styled living/dining/kitchen area. You'll find this cottage style decor flows throughout this home, from the shiplap covered wall breakfast nook/dining area to the stairway between the 2nd and 3rd floor and a few bathrooms, this home offers all the charm of an iconic beach cottage ... on stilts!
The cozy living area has a 50” mantel mounted Roku TV with Sonos soundbar, a wall of sliding glass doors that lead out to the balcony where you will find counter height tables and bar stools for relaxing with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine as you enjoy the beach views or an evening sunset.
The fully equipped kitchen has a large induction cooktop, wall stacked oven and microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, pantry and nicely sized beachy green island with countertop seating for 4. Coffee lovers will enjoy a Keurig and a 12-cup drip coffee maker. The breakfast nook/dining area has seating for up to 8 people and there is a very cute, small half bath.
This home has 4 bedrooms all with private ensuite bathrooms. The main level queen bedroom has a 43” Roku TV with Sonos sound bar, sliding glass doors out to the balcony with two counter height Adirondack chairs available for relaxing and enjoying the view. The ensuite bathroom has a spacious double bowl vanity sink, shower and closet. All showers in this home have stone tile flooring and are equipped with a rain head shower along with a handheld.
Making your way up to third floor via the shiplap covered stairway and you'll find two (2) more queen bedrooms and one (1) king bedroom, each with their own 43” Roku TV and Sonos soundbar. Three of the four bedrooms have double-bowl vanity sinks and sliding glass doors that lead out to balcony area with 2-adirondack counter height chairs.
Location: In addition to being within walking distance to Times Square, this home is on the beach (not across the street from the beach). This area offers a wide, expansive, soft white sandy beach that is never overly crowded. You can rest assure you will always be able to find the perfect spot to setup for a perfect beach day of sunbathing, swimming, building sand castles, spotting dolphins, shell hunting and just relaxing.
For your beach days, you have 2 beach carts, 8 beach chairs, 2 coolers, 2 beach umbrellas and an easy setup beach tent available. After a day at the beach, stop by the shared outdoor shower (located on the oceanside of our sister property, blue house) to rinse off sandy toes.
Dining out and entertainment options? With this home being located on the beach, just pop out your door and take a 15-20 minute stroll along the beach or hop aboard one of several free trolleys to Times Square area. There you will find a variety of dining options and live music. Several popular restaurants/bars are The Whale, SOB's (Smokin Oyster Bar), Nervous Nelli's, Matanza's on the Bay, Wahoo Willie's, Snug Harbour, Lighthouse Bar or visit Margaritaville's bar/restaurants which are open to the public. A popular spot, especially on a partly cloudy or clear evening, is their huge open air, upper deck area. There are lots of conversation seating areas with firepits or grab a seat at the large bar, order up a signature Margarita and prepare to be awe-inspired as you witness one of Fort Myer's Beach iconic sunsets.
