This property is fine, roomy, well-appointed. It wasn't for me because the master bedroom and bathroom did not have windows, making me and my claustrophobia very uncomfortable. Also the kitchen is very small and very separate from the living space in a different room. I like to cook and chat at the same time so this didn't suit our needs but might be perfectly fine for someone else. The owners and property managers addressed the concern immediately and we were given a more suitable accommodation at the abbey, which we enjoyed. The apartments don't reflect the age of the building, don't expect stone walls or old charm in the apartments. The interior is very modern. I enjoyed the pool and sauna once, that had a lot of character and good design. We enjoyed Fort Augustus, the local pub with a wood stove, loved that. And Loch Ness offered much more history and interesting facts than we had imagined. About the abbey, personally, despite the arched churchy attributes of high ceilings, wide hallways and some beautiful doors, I felt like I was in old school. I wouldn't go back but I do think it would be great for multiple families getting together, other people seemed to be quite happy.
