The room was large and generally comfortable but smelled stale - as if it had been closed up for a while. The bed was two singles zipped together and so very uncomfortable in the middle. The shower head was so disgusting we didn't have a shower and the tiles were cracked and coming away from the wall. The towels smelled musty and the toiletbrush was awful! One of the windows in the bedroom had swollen and so couldn't be closed properly.
We had a fantastic stay at the Three Lions. The restaurant with rooms is a lovely place, good sized room with a very comfy and large bed, great tv, doors out on a gorgeous little garden which was perfect for our dog. We had dinner there which was out of this world, the owners really do go out of their way to deliver a great dining experience although the decor is a bit dated in the restaurant. Breakfast was nice, although bacon was a little over cooked but good quality ingredients. Only gripe was that behind the bathroom door there were multiple large dead spiders and a lot of cobwebs which made me think that part hadn’t been cleaned very recently, cleaning in the main room was very good though.
We loved our stay and can't fault a thing. The room was generously large and opened onto the very pleasant garden. The bed was vast and comfortable. The food was excellent and Jayne was the perfect host.
On entering our room there was a strong smell of cheap air freshener. It triggered my asthma. We put the glade air fresheners outside and opened the door and windows. Soon the stench of mouldy damp odour started to permeate the room.
We went to restaurant and ate one of the best meals We’ve ever eaten. Quite expensive but that chef is in a league of his own!
The decor in hotel is like a Toby Cavery. It needs a shed load of money thrown at it and someone employed with experience and good taste to furnish it.
Went to bed and the fitted sheet didn’t fit! It was pulled over the edge of mattress so tightly that the edge of sheet just about covered it . Consequently it came off when we lay on it and ended up with a screwed up lump of sheet. It was awful.
This kept us awake and the smell of mould was grim.
In the morning the water wasn’t hot enough for a shave and we had to boil the kettle.
The thought of a tepid shower wasn’t appealing and we didn’t bother.
The bathroom is old and needs replacing too.
We won’t be returning or recommend it to anyone.
