Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Yusu escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, travel documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and opt for closed-toe, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
