Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. Check out these handy travel tips that will get your Shengjin holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and pick shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
