Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Marconnelle escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
