Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. Check out these top travel tips that will get your Luna escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and maybe a neck pillow too. • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.

• Can't travel without your favourite perfume? Not a problem. As long as the volume is no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) and it's stored in a clear zip-close bag, you're permitted to bring it with you in your carry-on.
