We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a blast in General Santos in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, official ID, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a short nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you touchdown feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
