No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Cotabato holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm other people, such as firearms and ammunition, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
