Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Boyle holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, official ID, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are always good options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart choice, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
