Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Attapeu escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you pack the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Next, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to pack a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always opt for roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a serious condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. But the good news is there are numerous ways to reduce the risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, walk around the cabin as much as you can and wear compression socks or tights.
