Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of top travel tips that will get your Alme escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your bag for your laptop, a charger, your medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear flat, slightly roomy footwear like sneakers.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
