"Really enjoyed our stay here. We were three friends travelling and had booked a family room. Property upgraded us to a room with four beds . Was awesome. Dinner required reservations or notice prior but we used nearby cafe for one night. Great breakfast included . Location was good for Vatnajokull visit and Diamon Beach."
"great hotel, rooms are only actual blackout curtains we encountered on our trip. Property feels 5 star, staffing makes it 4 star due to lack of attention to detail and making people feel welcomed. We ended up adding an extra day and cancelled another hotel we had reserved, Hot tubs were great as well but could have been warmer, sauna has a view of the glacier, and a natural cold plunge below."
"Location: perfect
Suite: we stayed in a corner suite with super large windows on two sides. Bathroom had a large window. Suite had a balcony with a hot tub. Absolute gem of a suite. Suite also had a Dyson fan which was immensely useful since windows couldn’t be opened because of beastly winds (60-70 mph).
Breakfast: was good but not great - Hotel Jokülsarlon had a better breakfast. Breakfast area felt a bit cramped.
Dinner: menu items were awesome (Bordeaux, Arctic char etc). But whole restaurant smelled of seafood. Some good ventilation and air being fanned out would have helped.
Reception: only 1 person staffed and we had a long line and each checkin was taking forever. They could have had 2 people operating."
"This place is so peaceful and quiet! I was running late and the reception desk was closed it was about 3:30AM when I got there. I called the number of the hotel and someone guided me to my exact cottage and even after our call he sent a text message with all the details. I was so grateful because after a long drive the last thing you want to do is have look for your room or cottage! Thank you for making my stay a safe and memorable one."
"The room was exceptionally clean and surprisingly modern despite the building's age. The staff were awesome—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would gladly recommend this place to others."
"From the warm and friendly staff to the spacious, spotless rooms, everything about this stay was excellent. Free parking, delicious food, and a convenient location made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and great hospitality!"
"Such a great space!! The sleeping loft could have used a curtain to help block out the sunlight but other than that it was a great space! Loved the waterfall behind the house and easy drive to the glacier lagoon."
