Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Fengdu?
The best area to stay in Fengdu is generally along the Yangtze River waterfront in the new city centre.

This area offers the most modern conveniences and easy access to the main boarding points for Yangtze River cruises. You'll find a selection of contemporary hotels here, many with river views. The main promenade along the river is a pleasant place for a stroll, with shops and restaurants nearby.

For travellers embarking on a Yangtze River cruise, staying in this central waterfront area is particularly convenient. Hotels here often provide shuttle services or are just a short walk from the cruise terminals, ensuring a smooth start to your journey.
When is the best time to go to Fengdu?
The best time to visit Fengdu is during autumn (September to November) or spring (March to May) when the weather is mild and comfortable.

During these seasons, you'll experience pleasant temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the outdoor attractions without the intense heat and humidity of summer or the chill of winter. Autumn, in particular, often brings clear skies and comfortable conditions for sightseeing.

For those planning to visit the Ghost City, a well-known cultural site, these periods offer the most agreeable weather for climbing the steps and exploring the temples. The cooler temperatures also make boat trips along the Yangtze River more enjoyable.
