We had the best time. The Millhouse was the perfect getaway! Kids thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. One of our favorite stays we’ve ever had in a colorado. Couldn’t have asked for a better host! Thank you for making our vacation so wonderful!!
I took my mom here for her 80th birthday. It was a wonderful and relaxing trip. The property was clean and had everything you could want. Sitting out back in the trees was such a treat. It was quiet and the aspens were starting to change, so beautiful! We enjoyed our stay and would definitley come back again.
The Millhouse was so beautiful! Loved the interior beams and wood accents, enjoyed the fireplace every day (ample supply of wood). Touches all over the house: water bottles in ever room, humidifier for the dry mountain air, shampoo/conditioner/ body wash in the shower and cozy blankets everywhere! The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and we hardly needed a thing to augment what was always there. So clean and cozy, we didn't want to leave our mountain retreat from the world. Thanks so much for a lovely stay, Linda!
Our family had a wonderful stay at the cabin! Some of us made the 40 minute drive to ski Breckenridge every day, while others hung back to relax and enjoy the property. The games and hot tub were a big hit. And we loved all the amenities like plenty of kitchen gadgets and extra towels! We also much appreciated that the hosts provided an outdoor space for those who smoke cigs/green - we’ve stayed places before where we’ve had to go across the street to enjoy a vice on vacation and that’s not the vibe for us. It’s just expected that you’re respectful of the property and follow the very reasonable rules. The checkout process was a million times easier than other rentals we’ve had that have had a mile long checklist just to leave… The hosts provide all the instructions in their guide book, definitely give it a read when you arrive!
This cabin is a rare find, we were extremely lucky to have it available for our dates. It was pure joy to return home after day activities.
New, full of smell of fresh-cut wood, perfectly clean. Beautiful, well thought-through living area. We enjoyed a fireplace every day. Thank you for wood supply and for having it all set up for the first light-up. It is a very nice warm touch!! Thank you!!!!
A warm greeting note coupled with an artisan bag of chips and salsa melted our hearts.
Kitchen is immaculate with all needed supplies, great quality cookware, dishware.
Just everything in the cabin is very high quality. Gas-stove, silent dishwasher, awesome washer/dryer.
We were also very impressed with bedding quality, cloud-like pillows and blankets. Just a dream.
Hot tub is huge, clean and well-maintained. Stargazing and enjoying wood views from it was unforgettable.
The owner is very responsive, nice, attentive and patient.
I would recommend this cabin and jealous of all people who'll be able enjoy it. I really hope to come in the area for vacation again and be able to enjoy this cabin.
Thank you so very much for having us!!!
Linda was an amazing host and was always available for any questions before arrived at the cabin and even when we were checking out. Cabin was equipped with everything you could think of. Ptoperty was amazing and nice snd private with no neighbors really close. Fishing spots are nearby as well as the town for supplies. We will definitely be back! Thank you again Linda for hosting us in this beautiful cabin.
We had a wonderful stay at the Millhouse. Beautiful, clean home with all of the amenities you could ever want. Hot tub under the stars was the best. Kitchen and rooms wonderful. Beds comfy. So close to town and to lots of fishing spots.
Wonderful home with a fully stocked kitchen and all the appliances anyone could possibly need. The home is beautiful and has great interior and exterior spaces to enjoy as a group or individually. A true getaway near great hiking trails. Highly recommended!
This was the most amazing place to stay! Linda was so attentive to every single detail and made our weekend unforgettable. We are so thankful and cannot wait to return :)
We had a wonderful stay. The place was cozy and the wood fireplace and hot tub only made it better. We received a lot of useful information prior to the arrival (eg how to prepare for the elevation) and at the house (eg how to use any appliances, what to visit in the area and in Colorado im general). The house was equiped with everything we needed (eg kitchen appliances, dishwasher, washer and dryer) and everything was clean and well maintained. The place was quiet, no disturbances. Far enough from toursity busy areas but close enough to be able yo visit a lot of great locations for viewing, himing or winter activities. All in all a great stay in an amazing cozy house.
Would highly recommend planning a trip to this beautiful cabin in the mountains. The kitchen had everything we needed along with some snacks we all enjoyed. Propane firepit for evening glasses of wine for adults and Smores for the grand daughters. Pack your swim suit to enjoy the hot tub, oh my the stars at night without city lights are the best. Bonus a nice wood burning fire in the great room was waiting for us thanks to my son after a long soak. Our trip was end of September and the Aspins were stunning. Hiked local trails but mostly enjoyed quiet time with the family. Book a trip you won't be disappointed with these accommodations.
Enjoyed our time in Colorado at the Millhouse . Linda is an exceptional owner who goes above and beyond ! The kitchen is truly a gourmet kitchen and has everything you could want for your stay . Family time and R&R was a priority and this house certainly delivered .
Where to begin!
This place is amazing. If you are looking at this cabin, let me begin by saying it is everything you could ever ask for.
The cabin itself is immaculate, and the setting is perfectly peaceful. We came out for an anniversary trip, leaving our small children back home. Quiet, calm, relaxing, warm...I could go on and on. A perfect place to refresh the soul.
It was also within short driving distance to Breckenridge and some incredible hikes. (The Hoosier Pass trail and Limber Grove are well worth it).
More importantly, you will never meet a kinder, more helpful host. Linda, you have the spiritual gift of hospitality. Everything you need is there (laundry, coffee, shampoo, firewood, kindling, walking sticks, etc, etc). She is very helpful with recommendations, quick with all communication, and genuine through and through.
She even helped us when we had car troubles. (A special thank you to the neighbors who live across the street... They blessed us in a very special way when we were stranded for a day without a car)
Overall, you couldn't make a better choice to stay when spending the week up in the mountains.
Thanks again, Linda!!!
We could not be more thrilled with the Millhouse. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need and provided it. It's clean, welcoming, beautifully decorated, and stocked to the nines. Not to mention, it's just so cozy and full of love. The hot tub is huge and spotless. The beds are to die for--so comfy! And the property is exceptional--surrounded by trees, with plenty of room for the kids to ride their bikes around without having to go to the main road.
Linda was so nice and always responded promptly. What a kind family the owners are.
We will be coming back again and again!
Thank you for hosting us so last minute. The Mill House is so warm + full of light and good energy. My girlfriend and I read out books, worked, meditated, puzzled, cooked, laughed and had an excellent weekend. If you are looking for a cabin to rent this one
is an excellent option. Very private, has a hot tub, fireplace, closer to hiking trails beautiful kitchen, living room and pretty much everything was awesome. Thank you again for creating such a sweet place.
What an amazing time we had at the Mountain Millhouse!! This home was absolutely perfect in every way. We have stayed at numerous vacation homes all over the country, and this has been by far the best. From the comfortable beds, to the cozy living room, the amazing showers, the high quality toiletries, and fully stocked kitchen. The property is absolutely beautiful and we loved the fire pit! Our family was so cozy every night in front of the fireplace. The layout is perfect for families; small enough that it’s intimate, but with enough space for spreading out. I could go on and on about how perfect this home is. Linda, the homeowner, is the sweetest, most caring, nicest host we’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. The location of the house is great, as it is close to many ski areas without the craziness of being in a ski town. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly think of and more, including sleds and snowshoes for guest use. Our kids loved the games and puzzles that were also provided. This was one of the cleanest homes we’ve ever stayed in—immaculate. The little details that meant so much to us like the goody basket, chocolates by our beds, and the beautiful Christmas tree were such a sweet touch and we are so happy that we chose to stay here during our Christmas vacation. Again, I could go on and on about this magnificent place. Seriously, do not hesitate to stay here. Already planning to go back =)
At every turn, Linda was very accommodating before and during our visit. I wouldn’t stay at any other location than Linda’s little slice of heaven in FairPlay. I would recommend this place to anyone and can’t wait to come back.
We had a great mini-vacation at the Mountain Millhouse in Fairplay, CO! Myself, my husband, our daughter, and her grandparents had a great 4-night stay! We loved the welcome gifts of chips and salsa along with all the house had to offer!
The house was impeccably cleaned and stocked for whatever we needed or wanted. It was great to have a fully stocked kitchen so we could cook or grill anything!
The rooms were cozy and the beds were comfortable! We also LOVED the hot tub and the speaker/home entertainment system!
Our 1 year old daughter could not get enough of the sweet doggie, "Ash" that came to visit :) So cute!
Thanks for everything!
I'm not even sure where yo start. Other than what an enjoyable time we had there. Ample space for all of us. Enjoyed cooking and sitting by a nice fire with hot coco. We were able to sit by the fire and have some great laughs. Enjoyed the hot tub after a day of travel and walking. This cabin has everything you can think of. Would highly recommend for anyone to go and enjoy. It is really easy to unplug and not check your email. The owners are wonderful as well.
Where to begin?! We really feel that we can't say enough about how wonderful both this place it's host, Linda, was!
Linda was the MOST incredible host from LONG before we ever arrived or even booked, incredibly hospitable and so genuine and kind all the way through. She was always quick to respond, and its evident that she deeply cares for her guests to a level that I've never seen before in a host!
Pictures just don't do the Mountain Millhouse justice. From the moment we pulled up outside, we were blown away with the amount of thought and detail that went into every little corner of the property. It's spacious but incredibly cozy. It's so well-decorated, every piece of furniture was clearly very thoughtfully selected, and there were SO MANY of the softest blankets EVER to cozy up with on the couch in the main living room or in the loft. We were greeted by a sweet little welcome board and basket to celebrate our anniversary! The guidebook was helpful and very fun to read! Linda has the kitchen stocked with a generous amount of k-cups for your morning coffee (including decaf), tea, some basic baking supplies, and even cream and sugar for your coffee :) the fireplace is perfectly ready for you to cozy up to when you arrive, all you have to do is light the fire! The beds were incredibly comfortable, my husband loved the pillows so much that he wanted me to contact Linda so we could get our own when we got home (and he has never found a pillow he really likes before)! The loft was a very cozy place to watch TV after a tiring day of hiking. On one of the rainy afternoons we thoroughly enjoyed sitting downstairs by the fireplace, drinking tea, and playing the card games that Linda has stocked up in the cabin (a lot of them were very fun and unique, but all simple enough to learn fairly quickly or play with kids). The hot tub was amazing- it was very large and clean, and it functioned perfectly- and looking at the stars from 10,000 feet was an absolutely awesome experience. The hosts really did think of EVERYTHING.
We were so torn between so many different potential home experiences in Colorado- from mountaintop tiny homes to so many different cabins- but I could not be surer that we made the perfect choice. The Mountain Millhouse left nothing to be desired, and in fact even though there were some other very cool homes in Colorado that we wanted to experience, when we come back I don't think we'll be able to resist coming back here again.
