Crimora Mine Retreat is an upscale custom log home built on 150 acres of mountainside. Panoramic views, private lakes, and lakeside pavilion are exclusively yours for your stay. The home is tastefully appointed with high-end furniture, bedding, and artwork.

The gourmet kitchen boasts custom cabinets, granite countertops, Wolf oven, Subzero frig. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances and cooking utensils you will need for your stay.

The walkout basement game room has a granite topped bar with an icemaker, pool table, foosball, game table, flat screen TVs, and wood fireplace. Walk out to the lower deck seating area with hot tub.

The lakeside pavilion has an outdoor wood fireplace, kitchenette, bathroom, sound system, pool table, horseshoe pit, and kayaks/canoes.

The bedroom layout is as follows:

Master Bedroom- King bed, gas fireplace, private master bath with whirpool tub.
Two Queen Bedrooms- Two separate queen bedrooms share adjoining full bath
Basement Bedroom- Two twin beds and one double bed with full bath
Loft- Pull out sleeper sofa on upstairs loft

The woodland is teaming with wildlife: deer, bear, turkey, beavers, ducks, hawks and occasional eagle sightings. Crimora Mine Retreat overlooks the Shenandoah Valley with exceptional views and sunsets. There are many area attractions if you can leave this breathtaking property!

The best escape in the Shenandoah area

The house and property were amazing!! So much space and the pictures don’t even do this place justice. The lake and entertainment by the water was so great and the cabin is huge with all the perks! I highly recommend this place!

Great property to relax and unwind

This is the 3rd time I’ve stayed at the house but first time w my family. They all had a blast. Plenty of things to entertain teenagers. Highly recommend. Only minor issue with our trip was the hot tub was not working properly but the owner was quick to respond to my inquiry and getting it serviced

Luxury retreat

Everything about the property was planned and built with top quality. It was easy to communicate with Terry who was very friendly. We have never stayed at a property with such access to privacy yet many on-site activities. We loved it. Well worth the drive!

Incredible property!

Had a girls trip with my friends here and the property was spectacular! Super clean, just like the photos (or even better), the dock area was an incredible bonus and we had a lot of fun swimming in the lake on a hot summer day. Megan was super responsive to my questions ahead of time and even gave winery recommendations. I would definitely visit again!

Christmas at the Cabin

Don't keep looking..... Book your stay here! It's AMAZING! This cabin has stunning views and complete serenity. The Pavilion by the lake just can't be beat....an outdoor OASIS! The hosts are very accommodating, the Christmas decor was beautiful. The cabin itself is cozy and spacious and will have everything you need!

Great stay close to wedding venue

We had a great stay with family and loved being close to our daughter’s wedding venue. Thankful the host was so accommodating with last minute changes due to hurricane in Florida (our home). Wish we had more time to enjoy all the amenities. Spacious home worked well for 5 adults and two teens. Other family came to visit and it was nice to have the base camp.

Great place to relax and to adventure!

Very clean, plenty of space, a great place to relax and have fun indoors or to adventure outdoors to hike, fish, or to sit by the outdoor fire pit and/or lake pavillion with fireplace, pool table, and kitchen!! You only live once: spend a little more to stay at an amazing place like this! We definitely made the right choice for our 4 adults and 7 children!! Thank you to Megan for being a great host! We hope to return once again!

Mountain getaway

3rd time staying here in March timeframe. Great view, great weather, great property… makes for a great gathering. Local hikes and local restaurants/breweries/wineries make this well worth it. Cant wait for year 4.

Amazingly Secluded

The location of this cabin is what made me book it and I was not disappointed. It had a gated entrance, a long driveway, and no one else in sight. All the fun the amenities made our stay exceptional for everyone.

Crimora Mine Retreat

Beautiful property with many amenities in a spectacular setting. Property owners were very accommodating to our needs and responded in a timely manner when we had a question/concern. It was a wonderful place to gather and relax with family to celebrate my son's graduation from JMU. Loved this rental and would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Time on the Mountain!

This was a great place for an extended family get together. Some hiked, some fished. All had a blast! We hear and/or saw turkeys, owls and deer. And caught bass and bluegill in the pond! Only minor wrinkle was the stink bugs and lady bugs around the windows - not a surprise for a cabin in the woods in the spring. As long as you have one or two people in your group that are willing to scoop them up and send them outside, then not a big deal!

Beautiful property!

We had a great time staying in this house and wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property even more! It was easy to check in, the house was very clean, and the booklet was very helpful for things around the house and the check out process. All of us want to come back and enjoy it another time!

Family Time

Beautiful property! Everyone had a great time. The fishing dock was our favorite. Taught my grandchildren how to fish! We caught lots of fish! The golf cart was a lot of fun to explore the property. I do feel it should of been included in the price. We are looking forward to going back.

Beautiful property. Just as pictured on website. Lights & Wolf oven were challenging! So many switches! Boat house was great. We spent lots of time there. Bought firewood for campfires at local campground. We had 6 adults. Plenty of space for us.

Excellent Location for Work Retreat

Fantastic place for a work retreat, more privacy than I've ever experienced at a rental with acres of woods and a gated entrance. It was unusually hot for June, but there was still plenty of space and activities inside during the mid-day heat. Whether you're into fishing, canoeing/kayaking, sunbathing, campfires, board games, foosball/pool, hiking, or swimming, there are activities for everyone. I took the kayak out each morning to fish, ended up catching a bunch of bluegill and a few small bass. Lots of birds and other wildlife. Kitchen and other amenities are top quality. Plenty of breweries and wineries to explore if you're willing to explore 20-30 minutes from the house.

Amazing cozy retreat!

This house is BEAUTIFUL! The house was immaculate when we arrived, all of the furniture was beautiful and comfy -- including the beds, which doesn't always happen at vacation homes! The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook, linens and towels were provided. The lake side club house was SO COOL -- there was even a bathroom so there's no need to go back and forth to the house while you're out by the water. They thought of everything -- even the trash cans outside are bear proof! We rented for a girl's trip and the house was laid out perfectly -- everyone had their own little spaces when we needed a break and the communal spaces were warm and comfortable when it was time to gather all together. Will definitely be back with either friends or family!!

Perfect family vacation

We all had a wonderful time. Plenty to do for the adults and kids. The the house was very nice and relaxing. We all went swimming everday. We enjoyed our lunches and brunches down by the lake at the pavilion. The kids fished every day. The lake was very clean and refreshing. We had a fire outside every night. The grandkids were so busy, there wasn't any complaining about being bored or what we were going to do next. The house was setup perfect for a family vacation. I just sat back relaxed and enjoyed watching my family having fun. Communication with the owner (host) was great. Seemed to be a very easy going guy. Very easy to talk to. We had everything we needed. We never left once we arrived. We all can't wait to go back again. Thank You Very Much. Bob Witmer
