"The owner of this gite lives on-site and apparently has his place of business there as well. As per numerous signs in the gite, guests are not allowed to have visitors and are instructed to confine themselves indoors or in the dismal communal barbecue area, some 70 meters away, including stairs. "The hotel is in a fantastic spot — right on the lake and just steps from Como’s Cathedral and historic center. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had a room with a beautiful lake view, which made the experience even more special. Parking is off-site at a nearby sister hotel, just a short walk away. It’s a bit inconvenient but manageable. The room was clean and comfortable, though starting to feel a bit dated and could use some renovation. Breakfast was included and offered a nice variety — definitely a plus."

"Really good location as it’s a 5 min walk from the train station also very close to the ferry. The room is on the smaller side but that’s expected in Varenna. The gentlemen at the reception was very helpful and they were able to accommodate for late check-in. I would recommend this spot and for the location and the value."
