Larimer County License: 20-NCD0279 Rivendell is our traditional mountain log cabin home with plenty of comfortable acreage and amazing mountain views of the Continental Divide in Rock Mountain National Park! We have a new 7 person hot tub too! We offer a beautiful log-paneled living room with two story ceilings. and a fully equipped kitchen for entertaining. Our favorite room is the sun porch, with ceiling to floor windows looking out at the forest and including stunning views of Mount Ypsilon, Fairchild Mountain, and Chiquita Peak. We spend hours here each morning enjoying the views of mountains, forest, and various wildlife on our 2 ½ acre property. Our guests have seen deer, elk, turkey, moose, black bears and wonderful birds, rabbits and chipmunks.

The outdoor porches are accessed through doors on either side of the sun porch, as well as the front and side doors of the main living room. Grill your favorite meats and vegetables on our outdoor grill located on the side porch by the dining area. This main level has 1 king bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, 1 queen bedroom, small washer and dryer, sun porch, kitchen, dining and living room with fireplace and front and side outdoor porches with fantastic views.

From the living room, a log stairway leads to the upper level Master Bedroom. This bedroom has two closets, a king bed and a private porch with spectacular views. The bathroom boasts a steam shower and two sinks. A small living area with couches, a table and picture window looking out to the fabulous mountains also looks down to the living room below. On the other side is an open loft bedroom with a trundle bed and closet.

The basement boasts a living room which has 2 couches (one is a sleeper sofa) and a kitchenette with an extra large washer and dryer and also a dinette for eating or playing games. Private king and queen bedrooms with ensuite baths occupy this floor along with an outdoor entrance to a patio with beautiful views.

The unique layout of our cabin accommodates 14 people, but feels cozy enough for two.

The four living areas are perfect for togetherness or privacy, whichever is preferred.

We have outside Security Cameras monitoring the outside door accesses.

The Rivendell was just as listed, LOVED the porch!! Wonderful location, close to Estes and RMNP yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Estes. No issues with water as others have stated(we had 10 in our party that stayed there). Dan, owner and Trish, property manager were wonderful to work with. Saw lot of wildlife during our stay. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Heard/Drew families for sharing your cabin with us!!

Family Vacation

Family Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful stay at Rivendell! The whole multi-generational family(14 of us) was able to stay in comfort while relaxing, playing and enjoying the property, inside and out! The kitchen is well stocked and made it easy to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal! We hope to stay again in the summer!

Great family vacation home!

Beautiful cabin in a gorgeous setting. Lots of space for large and small groups to gather around tables for games, relax on comfortable seating for conversations and get a great night’s sleep in comfortable beds. We will be back!

Amazing Accommodation

Family from CA, AZ, and WA came together to stay for our brother's wedding and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids had a blast exploring the outdoor space and playing in the game rooms. The beds were so comfy and the amazingly stocker kitchen worked well to cook many meals for many people. Would absolutely stay again.

This is a beautiful cabin on a quiet road. The location includes amazing views of mountains in every direction. We love the updated kitchen and bathrooms. Everything is well stocked. Perfect for a large family gathering.

Mountain Gem

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was exactly as shown on the listing and plenty of space for our large group of extended family. The views of the mountains are second to none! The host was amazing and quick to respond to any needs we had. Very accommodating and helpful in every way! We definitely hope to be back someday as this was a mountain gem with all the amenities needed for an extended stay! Highly recommend!

Nice large house in a great location

There were 10 adults for this trip and we all had enough room. The bedrooms are a nice size and the living spaces were wonderful (especially the porch area). It was nice that we were so close to RMNP too, as we were hiking every day. Highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed 5 days with our extended family of 14. One issue: water. This house has it, but not much of it. If you have a large group and plan on doing laundry, showering, etc., be aware there are signs placed throughout the house cautioning about the cistern’s capacity.A warning about that prior to arrival could have helped us, as my family of 8 had already been on the road for a week and planned on doing laundry.Aside from that, it was a truly wonderful stay. Fantastic wedding get together

We couldn’t have been more pleased with the service, location and property. Everything we had hoped for to have family stay together as we celebrated a wedding in Estes Park. Coffee overlooking the mountains and hummingbirds on the balcony. Heaven!

Beautiful cabin in the woods

Our favorite place was the glassed in sunroom over looking the mountain’s, so beautiful. Our family of 14, 12 adults and 2 under the age of 2 loved staying in this cabin. It’s 3 floors, all with at least 1 bath and a sitting room and was perfect for our needs. The kitchen is well equipped, we actually had our Thanksgiving Dinner there. We would love to meet our family there again next year. Trish was so good to work with, 😊 Terry & Jeanette

Family vacation in Estes

Took the kids and grandkids for a few days getaway and stayed in this amazing cabin. So much room for the family as far as bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. Kitchen very well stocked with all the utensils and such to cook like it was one's own kitchen. The back enclosed porch was the family favorite - watching the hummingbirds and view of the Rocky Mountains - just beautiful. I recommend this cabin to anyone.

Lovely location

Family gathering of ages 6-18. (Kids) and adults, grandparents. Even though the cabin is on the main road, it’s quiet with great views. Games for kids, great outside eating area, sunroom with amazing views, upstairs deck with great views. Kids had fun in ping pong room, exploring property. Kitchen well equipped, beds comfy, nice location to the national park, YMCA camp and town. Really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Family Time at Rivendell

What a wonderful time our family had at Rivendell. Everything was perfect - from the amenities to the location - we couldn't have been more pleased. There was room for everyone to be together as well as places to go to be alone. The location has beautiful scenery and is so quiet. The location also provides very easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park as well as the town of Estes Park. It is a place for us to return to in the future. Thank you.

Family Retreat was a success!

Mom & Dad's 50th anniversary celebration was great! We had 3 generations in the house and the whole family enjoyed the trip :-) We hiked all over (Bear Lake and Alberta Falls were our favorite spots) and saw elk, moose and mule deer! Wildfires were happening during our stay but Trish kept us up to date about all the ongoings and made sure we were safe and well taken care of during our stay. Would 100% stay again if we find ourselves traveling westward in the future. Highly Recommend!

Beautiful property that worked so well for our family. If there is any feedback is that it was dusty, and some of the washers/dryers weren't working well. Property manager was very attentive and took very good care of us.
