Now: onward!!
I am so pleased to share with you my family`s cabin on the outskirts of Rocky Mountain National Park. We fell in love with this place because of its proximity to endless outdoor recreation, the quiet hot tub off the back porch, and the serene brook running through a beautiful aspen grove in the yard. It`s awesome to get to Hidden Valley in 15 minutes to sled or snowshoe in the winter, or to hike around Bear Lake during the summer -- the home is just minutes from the entry gate at Beaver Meadows.
During the winter months, cozy up in front of two beautiful gas fireplaces and enjoy a soak in the hot tub. It`s even better that the best cocktails, wine and food is a minute down the road at the famous Bird and Jim, one of the best restaurants in northern Colorado.
During the summers, relax in the yard under the aspen grove! The sounds of the stream are idyllic, and the little swing is a great place to unwind and read a book.
Marys Lake, a minute away, has fishing if you have a permit. The Bird`s Nest, a minute away, has incredible coffee and wood fired pizzas. The Country Market, a minute away, will make the best sandwiches for you prior to a National Park excursion. A minute away there`s probably an elk or deer feasting on some lush grasses. You get the picture -- the location is perfect.
Five minutes away (!) is the downtown district. It`s nice to be 5 minutes away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to get there quickly.
BEDROOMS
We have three bedrooms: a main floor double, a main floor queen with a rustic log bed frame, and a lower level queen with walk in closet, private en-suite bathroom with a jetted tub, and a private gas fireplace.
BATHROOMS
The home has a number of bathrooms: The main floor bathroom features a tub/shower, two sinks, and a toilet. The en suite bathroom on the lower level features a jetted tub, toilet and two sinks. There`s also a shower in the laundry room.
LIVING, DINING & COOKING
Kitchen - My kitchen is absolutely stocked! Crock pot, drip coffee maker, full size fridge, oven, blenders, cooking utensils galore, pots, pans, and so much more. Let your inner chef loose!
Living/Dining Area - One of my favorite parts about the layout of the home is is fosters gatherings. The main living area on the first floor is totally open, with sofa seating, dining table seating, and seating around the kitchen bar. It`s great for socializing and hanging out.
OUTDOOR LIVING
One of my favorite features of my home is the lovely yard, accessible from the hot tub or front/side porch. There`s a beautiful little stream running through it, and the aspen and pine groves on our property are so pleasant. You will love just sitting on the edge of the brook listening to the aspen leaves rustling and the brook babbling during the summer and fall.
LAUNDRY
Please use the free washer and dryer on the lower floor.
Guests have access to our entire property:
- 3 bedrooms, - 2 bathrooms plus a laundry room with a shower - a kitchen/dining/living area - a big deck- - a big fenced in yard with a seasonal street and grove of aspens - a private hot tub off the back porch - a kid`s play area with a trundle bed, TV and gaming console.
We won`t be able to meet up with guests, but have an absolutely excellent team at The Wolf Rentals to help out with your reservation! The team is made of a bunch of long term locals who know Estes like the back of their hands. You`ll be in excellent hands :)
Our home is in a private residential neighborhood in a small valley between Giant Track Mountain and Prospect Mountain. Giant Track is actually part of Rocky Mountain National Park, and Prospect Mountain is a huge open space. We are essentially in the middle of a wildlife corridor that`s constantly teeming with elk, deer, wild turkey, birds of prey, coyotes, bobcat and other critters. A few minutes up the road is Marys Lake, where you can fish, and a few minutes down the road is a great local supermarket plus the best restaurant in Estes (Bird and Jim). The home is about 5 minutes to the entry station to Rocky Mountain National Park.
A free summer shuttle bus goes all over Estes Park and into the National Park. You`ll want to head to the Stop 3 (Manor RV Park) or Stop 4 (National Park Village, where the nearby Country Supermarket is), both of which are about a ten minutes walk.
NO SMOKING, NO FIRES
My home was about a mile away from one of the largest forest fires in Colorado history a few years ago, so we are a strict no-smoking property. No smoking inside, outside, and no outdoor fire pits (now illegal in Estes Park`s vacation homes).
ROAD CONDITIONS
Estes has a great plow team and our driveway will also be plowed during storms, but if there`s a huge blizzard, they may not be plowed exactly when you need them to be. We cannot assist if you get stuck and we always recommend that people rent AWD or 4WD when visiting us from October to May. We are at 8,000 feet and this can be a snowy area!
NONPAYING GUESTS
Insurance forbids nonpaying/non-registered guests on the property.
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows. There are fans in the living room and bedrooms as well.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area often and can break in!
MINUT We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn`t record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It`s located in the living room above the sofa.

Great launching pad for our week in the Rockies! Well equipped for the rapid weather changes of the shoulder season. Elk in the backyard, beautiful trees and delightful birds.
My friends and I had a great time on this property in Estes Park. The house was clean, the host was responsive, and the location was perfect. My friends and I were there for a wedding so we didn’t get to explore the park as much as we would have wanted. I hope to come back again to get the full experience!
The location of this property was ideal for our week at Estes Park/RMNP. The house was the prefect size for our family of four and it was conveniently located near the main entrance to RMNP. It is not on a main thoroughfare, but it is located on a fairly busy road, so the setting wasn't exactly tranquil. Despite this, elk and deer visited the property nearly every day. Our family really appreciated the washer and dryer and the propane grill.
